Just uploaded one of my videos from the wycombe game to youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QjQs-O2MCg for those of you that didnt go, id recommend you watch it to see how fantastic our support is!
I read on another forum that we've already sold out the away end of 1200. So looks like 1300+ will be there.
You lot made noise all the way through, you have been noisy most times we have met, but Tuesday seemed like you had that bit extra, Fair play!
I would also add that I remember you guys coming to Carrow Road in your first season in the Championship and was quite surprised by your following that day. I am not sure just how you brought up but it must have been in excess of 1500 which made for a great atmosphere on the day
For the amount of Gills away following, surely one of you must be able to do a good write up after the game for our not606 Gills board? Please start a new thread if you do, it just seems wasted when experiences are not shared from people actually at the game.
I would have expanded on my post in Hoadie's Wycombe thread - to tell how good we looked in all parts. i would have told you that we passed the ball well - that we weren't greatly troubled by attempts on our goal - despite Wycombe's dominance during the 2nd part of the first half. This was overcome by the introduction of Allen to bolster the midfield in the 2nd half. I would tell you how solid Barrett was on the night, and how scary Weston looked ( please keep him on the wing ) - I'd say that we were guilty of defending ( without an outlet ) after Flanagan was sent off - I thought we were lucky to survive - I am not in favour of a high risk strategy, and might have thrown away 2 points. I would say that if Gills play in the same way for the rest of the season we should be challenging for the top 3. However I can't say any of these things without drooling over the Barcelona v R.Madrid game. If only Gills could play like that. ( although not like the Barcelona keeper for Madrid's 2nd goal.)
From what I saw against Bradford, I would agree about Allen, I think I may have even said somewhere on here before the Wycombe game that he should be in the starting line up. Despite my early doubts about a unknown for me, he was my MOM against Bradford. That then leads me to Myles Weston, as most of you know any pacey winger always gets my approval.
Weston didn't exactly mug himself off today either. Alright, so he wasn't in the game as much as he could have been, but he looked really good when he was on the ball, and his goal was top class.. Charlie Allen wasn't too shabby either today, although largely anonymous compared to previous games... Away support gets top marks - as usual...
