If Faye is a slowcoach, that gives me hope that BWP will be able to torment the Hull defence like he did Leicester's.
5th. We're solid at the moment but need Fryatt back and Proschwitz to start looking like a player who cost £2.6 million to start to really challenge the top of the league. I've decided I'm going to back us for a 2-1 win, you've still got promotion momentum but I fancy a Sone Aluko brace tomorrow.
Given his age, I'd say Evans has the potential to be a good player. However, at the minute, he's more of a "McShane of the midfield". He's not poor in a defensive-midfield role, but he's not brilliant either. He's not poor in an attacking-midfield role, but he's not brilliant either. Stewart could also be a good player, but he runs with his head down towards the corner flag, does some half-arsed step-overs that fool nobody and then attempts a **** ball into the box. If he could work on his crossing and his goalscoring, he'd be fantastic. I pretty much agree about McShane Opinions on our team are varied. Some supporters were predicting 1st and 2nd when Bruce took over as manager, but I think a more realistic expectation is somewhere in the 3rd quarter (13th-18th). We're onto our third manager in three years since our relegation from the Premier League, and they've all struggled to get us scoring goals. Bruce has been a bit more honest than either Pearson or Barmby ever were recently about the level of problem this causes for a side supposedly aiming for promotion. We've got some decent players going forward in Sone Aluko, Robert Koren, and Matty Fryatt (who's unfortunately injured), yet for us to score more than twice in a match is rare. Since relegation in 2010, we've managed to do so just 8 times in 94 league matches, and even a few of those we only won by a single goal. Defensively we're not too bad, though Bruce's nepotism in bringing young Alex in is worrying. We already had 5/6 centre-halves, all of whom I would say are as good or better. If we go for a 3-5-2 tomorrow and Bruce is one of the 3, I might leave before the game even starts. Our Faye is Abdoulaye, formerly of Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United, Stoke City, and West Ham United.
Dont want to be the doom-mongerer again, but watching the game tonight Bolton v Forest and the ground looks half-full. Along with our disappointing gate on Tuesday - i know its holiday time, but as mentioned before, really feel that football is on a downward trend for gates.Crowd looks really disappointing tonight.
If you "don't want to" be something, then don't. Nobody is forcing you. Midweek games have always sold less. Really not sure how that's meant to be news.
Going for a 3-1 Victory for us Addicks! Bwp/Kermo free-kick/Morrison with the goals! Hopefully a 20k+ crowd!
Bolton in not full ground shocker Can't wait for the next update on crowds round the grounds. Next stop Wigan please
Now that's a shame... a bit of Amdy Faye in their team and I'd be hugely confident! But agree with Ponders, I think the extra day's rest will give us the edge. Will no doubt regret this, but I think we've got enough to keep Hull quiet, though I remember Koren causing us issues in previous teams. Glad Fryatt's out. 2-0 Addicks, I reckon, Kermit and Jackson. I wouldn't take a point if offered. Wouldn't be too upset if we got one, as 5 points is a decent return, but a home game full of confidence and with the extra day, against a decent but not spectacular side, I'd like to have a crack at getting 3. Also would take any pressure off the Forest game next week, where I can't see more than a point. If we get the same performance from BWP as we had on Tuesday, any defence will struggle against him.
Letting the train take the strain this time around. If I'm honest, its probably quicker, but can't listen to Five Live on the train.

Late change on the Charlton bench. Matt Taylor has pulled out just before kick-off, so Dorian Dervite has replaced him
Another point and still unbeaten. Deep down, I hoped for more from this game, but hey good start to the season.
