a) this is more major than being left out of the side, plenty of players have demanded transfers before
b) then we'll make a tidy profit

a) True, and if what's been reported is true he does seem to have been royally messed about by Bologna
b) Not necessarily. For example, if he only has a year left on his contract and then refuses to play for us we're left in a very weak bargaining position

I'm not suggesting this makes him a troublemaker or anything, I'm just not going to celebrate a player throwing a strop. I tend to be wary of players who've "spat the dummy", and that's particularly relevant to us as Adkins seems to love his professionalism and team spirit. I also can't remember us signing anyone else who's "spat the dummy" at their previous club (although I may well have forgotten someone).

Fair enough, but would you rather he hadn't 'spat the dummy' plays on the weekend, and then breaks a leg and totally rules out a transfer?

No I didn't :p I said the agent had told papers that the deal was off, but that several people think he did it as a bluff to force Bologna's hand. Agents hardly count as third parties anyway.

Because they have no part in transfers at all.....

No - third party refers to an external source and is just a saying, there are three parties involved in every transfer. Buying club, selling club, player. As agents work directly with these parties they don't count as an external factor, therefore not a "third party" :) Besides agents are nothing to do with this particular deal stalling. It's nothing like Buttner at all.

Whatever you say, ****face <laugh>

I've just got back from Heathrow. I searched everywhere and I couldn't see him. I bumped into Jim White (from Sky Sports) and his partner.... he hadn't seen him either.
