At the very least
At tomorrow´s feast
We should expect blood, sweat and tears,
All sadly missing
From our London fling
For the first time in the last three years

And I have no doubt
That after that rout
And with a full house on their feet,
We´ll see a City
Show some nitty-gritty
And get down this week and compete

And though QPR
Next on the radar
Are perhaps not the ideal foe,
As they too were hit
By a Welsh rarebit
I´m hoping they´re still feeling low

And one thing´s for sure
There´s no better cure
After taking a heavy defeat,
Than bouncing straight back
With all out attack
To get us all up off our seats

CH you can bet
Is not going to let
One shoddy showing get him down,
The players we know
Can put on a show
And fight to the death if be known

So come on now City
No need to be pretty
But let´s see some heart and some soul,
So that we go home
Warmed through to the bone
Still certain that we´ll reach our goal. OTBC

Hi RBF - history says we should beat QPR at FCR, but we all know that history doesn't necessarily have a bearing on the future!

I am hopeful though, that we can get our season up and running, hopefully keeping a clean sheet!<ok>

i mentioned on another thread yesterday that tomorrow's game is a bit of a lottery - i can't think of any other way of describing it! i genuinely struggle to predict this result - it could end up anything at all <laugh>

0-0, 5-5, 4-0, 0-4... god knows!

I can't help feeling that QPR have been unlucky with their fixtures. If they lose tomorrow with Chelsea,Spurs and Man City to follow they could very well end up played 5 lost 5.So from our point of view it would be an especially worthwhile win.I would take a scrappy fortuitous 1-0.

I don´t think it ´ll be particularly pretty to watch, but I think we´ll just scrape it somehow, but the most important thing, is that they put on a performance.

i personally think its imperative that we don't lose! a draw, a win... either way, regardless of performance, we'll be off the mark and confidence should come from there. i think if we play really well and still lose, that will be a far worse sign

Super, at the start of the week I felt exactly the same as you, and thought that at least a point at any cost was imperative here. I still think so as regards the points, but I´m not sure about at any cost, I think for all their sakes they need to put in a real performance, I agree with you that to play really well and still lose would be soul destroying, but to play really badly and somehow fluke a win, wouldn´t actually make me feel much better ;)

Yes RBF - I would rather the team show a fighting spirit (which epitomised SO many of our games last season) and a narrow defeat, than to play as we did collectively last week and lose!!!

i take your point rbf <ok>

i still think we need a result of some description, or else we head to white hart lane bottom of the league, albeit after just two games, but with confidence in tatters. we need something to build on so i suppose an unlucky defeat in a good performance wouldn't be the end of the world but its the points that will keep us up, not playing well - there's plenty of time during the season to start playing well <ok>

Whatever happens get behind them more than one team will be in 0 points after 2 games but it is still early in the season

I'm nervous about this one result depends upon how well the Zimmer frames are prepared I suppose

Hope Holty takes his cue to show the CR faithful he is still as sharp after all the summer rubbish
