To Be Clear....

I see comments flying from some reminding us that we are going to suffer from the usual City syndrome, i.e. we have a bit of success and all of a sudden, we are going to run away with the league.

To be fair, this is not unreasonable given the number of times that the City have flattered to deceive in the past however a little while back, the mighty GJ did bring some stability and sustained success to the club and eventually even the most skeptical joined the believers.

However, GJ's style and philosophy of hard work and motivation of players over and above their natural ability was only valid for a limited lifespan and to a certain level of football and eventually, it failed and the club was allowed to drift for way too long resulting in the stagnation that we all witnessed over the last 3 seasons...

Over the years the club has been managed by many different types of manager but not since the 90's have we had a former pro with honours at the helm, i.e. people who know how to win and what you need to do to achieve this.

Now however, I believe we have a very different era to look forward to. In DM, we have a manager who is a winner and a leader both on and off the pitch. He has played for one of the top clubs in the land and knows what is required to make a team both successful and most importantly, CONSISTANT

Now, we have a manager who knows what he is doing and is building us back up into a PROPER FOOTBALL TEAM again for the first time in a very long time with the right structure and expectation of the players. The foundations are being laid as we speak and, thanks to Sir Lansdown, we have added a few unexpected gems to the mix and whilst I do expect it will take a little time for DM to find his best 11 and for the team to settle once it does, I think we will be a potent force again in this division.

I don't know how long it will take to finish this seasons recruitment and in the process, the likes of Cardiff may indeed turn us over in the short term but even if they do, I am not bothered because I can see the bigger picture....

So the message is that even if we do suffer a few early defeats, it will not be the same old City burst bubble as when DM has finished building this years squad and has ironed out the kinks, LOOK OUT.......!

Looking forward to the ride, should be a rollacoaster with more ups than downs now that we have a great young motivated team at the helm. All you non believers who didn`t renew your season tickets take note; get down to the gate and witness a new dawn, not saying we will get promoted but we have a team who look capable and hungry.

To all the moaners this is your amnesty period, come and join us, and when we lose a few (sometimes it will be badly) don't come on here whinging straight after the game, have a think about it for a while and take the bigger picture in.

We are gonna be alright, Expecting promotion this season is a very big ask but we're building, I am very confident that some teams and journalists are in for a shock this year.

Still need that CH though....

No thanks. I think I'll sit back and wait for the ten games to pass before I decide that we're better than we were last season.

I'm still of the opinion that McInnes really needs time to get to grips with this squad and to fully understand the systems he wants to put in place. However, I am far more confident now that we've made our moves in the transfer market, because for the first time since GJ we've allowed a manager to build his squad. Being able to offload all of those players during the ends of their contracts, as well as moving on some others has helped us tremendously. I think we really underestimated how much money was help up in our current crop of players and now we've finally got the freedom to actually spend some cash.

We are gonna be alright, Expecting promotion this season is a very big ask but we're building, I am very confident that some teams and journalists are in for a shock this year.

The first ten games will shape that, but we've already lost our opener and we've got a match against a rival and a promotion contender. If we can beat Cardiff then I'll understand but we've lost the opener and were hammered by a League 2 side. This is not promotion quality and one good result does not make a team.

Still, we've made some good transfers since the press gave us the death knell so we will do better.

We also desperately need a creative midfielder and I'd like to hear more rumours flying around about loan deals or midfielders coming to join us. There are dozens of great creative midfielders that would love a crack at the Championship, and I'm shocked that no one has come in for players like Ross Barkley. He's available for loan and would be devastating in our squad.

Sitting back 10 games and waiting is fine by me.. its coming straight on here after a loss and slating all and sundry I can stand.. Some spewing like little children who have been grounded for a week.

Dont agree about the CM (I would take Buzsacky in a heartbeat though) the better quality of Forwards and decent full backs will be the answer to our creativity, we already have goals coming from different players across the park.
