"however he is still being used as the barometer for measuring success for the new man" Rightly so as far as the PL campaign goes. However, one game is hardly sufficient data for "measuring" , is it.
Going by past games & Harry buys then for the newcastle game harry would have had Bale upfront along side Heskey, Defoe on the bench, VDV playing off them (no sig cos he wouldn't have been bought) Lennon on the left with Hudd & sandro in the mid... poss sandro on the right. Fact is he didn't and AVB is our manager now
Would Harry have gotten in a striker in time, hard to say. I think somehow we would have got a point out of the game, but I'm happy to be generous to AVB currently, so I'll say no blame and 'points lost' by AVB. I do think Harry would have got three from the first two at least, so it's a must win for AVB now
In no way am I putting Harry down in this thread if it comes across that way then I apologise, at the end of the day he gave us alot of good times. I just created it to discuss how he would have done things on a match basis or dealing with internal issues compared tohow AVB is doing it, since Harry is being used as a measuring stick...I find it quite interesting to see what people think would happen. This thread is not meant to be having a pop, merely comparing the 2 mens team selections etc since they both have been instrumental at our club. I wouldnt consider making one for Ramos! And I'll be proven right because every single week AVB will be compared to Redknapp with team selection, tactics etc.
That is what type of analysis I meant GHoddle10. It would have been a diffrent line up and I think we would have gone for the draw.AVB is experimenting with the new formation...next up WBA.
i find this thread pointless and unhelpful to what AVB is trying to do.i was'nt happy about Harry being Sacked, but comparing what he would of done does'nt Matter because he's gone, can't see the point, sorry.
Then the mods should close it However I will be reminding you or anyone else who brings up Harry or mentions how he would have dealt with a certain match etc. I found it an interesting analysis since both managers have had an effect on the current set up...lord knows why it would get Anyones end up and it is only detrimental if someone is disrespectful to one man or the other. For me the club is going through a transition and naturally there will be comparisons as there already have been by many...I just thought they could be done in a constructive way.
I'm happy to leave it open. If some people find it interesting, then it'll stay on the front page, but it's easy for those with no interest in it to just ignore it.
