    Isn't he over 60...strangely prefer him to Heskey, but surely Adkins would never pick him. We would have one seriously pissed off manager if true.

    Just listened to tancred palmermi the journo from Italy live on sky sports radio, despite his reports saying the deal is dead he still seemed very logical on the whole matter.

    Basically saying that Ramirez was about to board a private jet over here having done an official interview etc and that Southampton thought it was a done deal. Sounds like Bologna changed the goalposts.
    Same references to how we want to do the deal with spreading payments over 3 years but Bologna want 10 million by end of the year and the rest within a year I think with bank guarantees.
    They also asked his opinion to whether he will sign for saints, in which his response (in broken English) " it's is a sticking point but Bologna need the money desperately and as time goes on he think Bologna will give in"

    I take some promise from this!!!
