If someone has come in with an offer for Darcy yet?

I know he turned down a new cortact but personally I will be dissapointed if the lad does leave us.

Twitter & Facebook full of this !!

"City have accepted an offer from a fellow championship club for one of our players. Deal agreed & TBA shortly"

Can only be Darcy, not sure if Earnie or K9 would get a Championship club interested.

He must have impressed in the Cup game last season having shut out Zaha for most of the game.

Not sure I'd want to be going there. He will certainly get first team football but could well be Div. 1 next season.

Did hear a rumour the other week, we were looking at him. I work with some Cardiff fans and what they told me he sounds like he can do a job for us.

As I said it was a rumour, but not far for him to travel and could be with Heaton again. <ok>

Ditto - all the fans I know think likewise. Would rather he stayed, great player to have in the squad.

Would be sad to see him go. He was a very good player to have as back up but if he wants to progress he needs to be starting.

Yes, he has had some good highs with us, keeping Zaha quiet as mentioned above, playing left back in our 1 - 0 win at the Liberty and hitting the woodwork, the great backs to the wall effort with Gezza in a 0 - 0 draw at Florest 3 seasons ago and more. Plus some great performances for Wales.

In fact, since returning from his loan at Plymouth, a man not a boy, I don't recall him ever letting us down when called upon. It was unfortunate for him that he was seen mainly as cover for Super Kev and then Quiinny got above him in the pecking order. His versatility enabled him to cover the whole back four and as a defensive midfielder. The only part of his game letting him down being his distribution although this has improved with Whitts lying deeper and making himself available for short balls out of defence.

I also hope he can stay although as Connolly can also cover the whole back four it looks like he is knocked down the pecking order again. This leaves us with our main 4 plus Connolly, K9 (who might also go) and youngsters. That all looks a bit thin to me.

He's constantly got his head in a pack of crisps or a few vodkas (from mother Russia) and he's a bit of a sleezebag overall I don't think he's the best defender either I think we could get more for him than 350K but he won't be pushing for first team IMO and I would personally rank him lower than K9 (oh and he sold all his tickets to scouters for th CCF

That's because we've got rid of all the pie munchers and everyone is training hard.

Bit of mixed feelings on this one , he needs to be playing , but isn't in malkys plans , so I guess he wants to go for first team football , can't see why the argument that his " versatility " is keeping him out of the side ,someone gets injured while he's on the pitch change where he's playing to cover ?
If what people say about him off the pitch is true , maybe we are better off without him , just got a nagging feeling in the back of my mind it's the wrong decision , good sell on clause is in order I think .

Versatility is a double edged sword. If you're playing in a position week in week out you get very good at it (well, the best you can be). If you play multiple positions you become OK in those positions, but NOT the best you can be. An in Blake's position you become the guy that covers most of the defensive positions and allows MM to put 3 strikers on the bench. It would be good for him if he could leave and get regular football. Bad for us because we'd need to sign 2 players to replace him.

It's happened in other sports. Tony Clemments played rugby for Wales in every position in the backs except scrum half but didn't start many games or get a run of games. The squad wouldn't be without him though.

It's a shame MM couldn't accomodate him with a bit of squad rotation.

I just think Darcy was here before Malky came in and unfortunately for Darcy this means it's inevitable he will be passed over. It would be interesting to know what the new contract offered. Darcy also seems keen to show Coleman how good a player he really is so maybe that also influences his decision to move on. If your not given the opportunity to display your talent on a regular basis you fade away in football.

I think it's fair to say MM doesn't really rate him. He's obviously a great option on the bench but it seems Connelly can play across the back 4 so the squad hasn't lost out there. His distribution is aweful and IF he's as much of a knob of the pitch as people seem to think we wont miss him. As Blue DNA says, nothing wrong with being versitile and in the starting 11.

I think he means; in a player that did not stake a claim for the first team. Darcey has always played second fiddle to our main back four..

    Stevoldino!
Fair comments m8 I suppose, but I just think if the lad had been given more opportunities he might have proved his worth. Last season Kev for me had some real shockers but continued to be picked unless badly injured. In fact the core of the team, even though City played almost 60 games last season hardly altered throughout and seemed to depend upon roughly 14 players. This is Malky's prefered way and was something he also did at Watford. As for the off the field stories is this just speculation, or if true the actions of a frustrated young footballer who needs reassurance from the gaffer that he still a part of his plans?

Not too long back we sung Du! Du! Du! Du! To one of the best centre backs I've ever seen down the City. He went on to prove how talented he is in the top flight, but I read recently how Rog, the club captain, had been dropped to the bench by his new gaffer Terry Connor for several weeks. Rog's eventual response was to turn up drunk for training and argue with team mates. What I'm trying to say is it can happen to any frustrated player. I'm not saying it's right but it's a symptom of the problem.
