But after this round of signings we won't need anymore (unlike last season). They have the entire season to gel. If it takes 10 games, fine. We'll be a good enough side to pick up plenty of points after that. Would prefer to have that scenario rather than make no more signings and struggle the entire season.

Think a few people are misconstruing my post......im not upset at getting rid of the dead wood of Championship players and replacing it with proven Prem players......im just a little concerned about the togetherness of so many players coming in at once, as I really dont want a repeat of last season.....im only 26 and it nearly gave me a heart attack last time.

I'd like to see Mark manage a club with no budget a little lower down the pyramid, just to see if he can actually manage a team, rather than just buying 15 players every summer. He just seems to chuck money at every situation, sometimes you need to work on the training pitch rather than just keep buying replacements.
Totally agree with your post was just saying it had to be done. A natural consequence of bringing in so many players has to be the time required to gel them into a team. But theists MHs job

In response to the OP, its a very valid concern and was raised by someone (can't remember who) a few weeks ago, that maybe we were making the same mistakes as last season?
However, I can't see fat Thony allowing the same thing happen again and we must trust that he knows what he's doing.
So we are now worrying about what may happen after something that hasn't happened ... If anyone leaves a football club then rarely does everyone still hold that person in high regard or on the constant mind ... unless of course they die they then become a 24 hour legend until then generally they are forgotten. My point was always about our team spirit and our Championship side had that in abundance .... we were balanced and a tight unit ... there is no formulas for that it evolves... and NW got very lucky ... so what did he do? for a start he let Gorkss go to bring in DJ. OK the club was in limbo but after that it went down hill.
City now they have won the league will only change players one or two at a time ... the position to get to it that the team picks itself regarding of names.

Just look at Steve Bruce and Sunderland last season, 11 new players and he was sacked by November.
It's about quality and quantity, as a neutral looking in, I really can't see where your next level players are for all the money Hughes has spunked and can see you finishing about 15th-17th.
Let's face it, we only just scraped by last season, We need a complete new attitude. I favor constant flux, with the players not just in fear of losing their place or their jobs, but also their lives if they cock up and fail to deliver the beautiful game for 100% of every match. That should keep the overpaid bastards on their toes, particularly with a new manager every fortnight to freshen up the tactics and formation.

That actually is a fair criticism and its good to have you over here creating debate boys. You're very welcome.
The only thing I would say is that the incoming players are undoubtedly of a better quality than the outgoing ones and I remember Hughes' first season in charge at Fulham saw them not win in their first 10 or something, then storm up the league. Everton have done that year on year for a long time now also. I just hope that's the case with us and that we kick into gear sooner rather than later.

It has taken time to buy into exactly how big TF and the gang are thinking. Then we had a great side with now need to buy anyone else we were flying and balanced and won the Championship with true style. When TF sacked NW I sort of realised then that we are a course that would become the quickest route to success ... you buy it ... you buy into it.
In terms of position QPR have grown quicker than anyone would have thought regardless of the league position. It was said that if we went down then that would not change anything just is the drive to climb and I firmly believe we will. If you can watch the Boswinga interview ... The player is also a winner and is quoted that he believes in the project. Some will say money talks and to that I would say yes it does BUT players also want success and to win and TF and the QPR company have got that action well and truly off the ground. We are attracting players the project is gaining momentum and that's why I have a secret laugh at Flyer and the others that are so worried that they have **** themselves ... It's a controlled staged growth and we can't turn back ... we have to adapt and go with it. Football is changing so quickly now and is the main entertainment on this planet and the profile associated with it is attracting the wealth of the world. QPR has chance to rocket because of it location it historical flair and it's marketable qualities.
It's that simple and that is why I think i see the bigger picture... Teams and players change ... its not worth letting Monkey Mind talk to you on these matters ... just flow and enjoy it ... every single second

You remind me of ourselves when we were first starting out getting established in the premier after years of being the yo yo club. We came up with Keane and threw millions at players, paying 8m for the likes of Anton Ferdinand! Crazy. The situation is though, again you were in a similar position as us. Had the odd good player here and there, but not really any top players. You have to break the mould and by doing that you have to over-spend to get the big established premier league players. You have to pay big wages to get these big players to an 'unfashionable club' and 'smaller club' because by doing that it also lifts the profile of the club and then makes it easier to target better players in the future now.
I have my doubts about Hughes, just like I did Bruce and every other manager that played under Fergie. They get the big jobs and money to spend, but none have any real class, nor will any of them go on to become top managers, imo.
It will take you time to gel, and the only advice I can give you is not to get carried away. First of all you need to become established and to achieve that you need to survive 3 seasons, so for the next couple of seasons if you are finishing low down the league, so what. Once you become established, it is easier to attract players then start pushing on to consolidate to a middle order team (like we are now). Once you are there then you are only 2 or 3 quality signings away from being a top half club and pushing for the cups and a place in Europe (like we are trying to do now). Be patient and don't forget where you were a few years ago and where you are heading. Build in stages.
Fletcher is a funny one mate, yes he is over-priced, but maybe that is because he is unfashionable? Every season he has hit double figures in the premier league, last season he scored the most headed goals in the league and also had the best goals to shots ratio in the league. He is a proven premier league player, which gives us a better chance of success with him then spending 1-2m less and getting some fancied named foreigner who could flop, like a lot do. He is a target man which we have been crying out for and O'Neil's sort of player. At the moment we haven't done the best deal BUT if Fletcher can bang 15+ in this season and continue like that, then it is an absolute bargain. Only time will tell I suppose.
Oh and if we bring Adam Johnson in as well, you may hear of giant white snowstorm like stuff all over the North East!
