Pretty tasty. Cork pretty lucky I thought in their win over Waterford, Tipp not the force they once were. I'm calling a Galway v Kilkenny rematch in the final
I think you are probably right. I am really pleased with how the season has worked out for Cork. They weren't smart enough to close it out against Tipp and they negotiated the qualifiers handily enough, despite conceding a lot of scores. Winning a game that was in the melting pot will really stand to these lads in future years. The half back line was all the old dependables but everywhere else was a young and dynamic team. The fact that it was the young lads that came off the bench to win it was even more satisfying. Waterford would have won if Shane Walsh had not got injured but thems the breaks. A decent showing at HQ and I'll be happy enough. Galway will be too guarded now to let their old failings come into play. Kilkenny are not all that they were but they are certainly not a spent force. Shefflins second goal on Sunday was a thing of beauty.
The dink over the keeper, delightful. Limerick could have built up a hefty gap the first 25 mins of that game if it wasn't for Shefflin. I'd fancy Kilkenny to extract revenge on Galway if they do meet.
Cork v Galway is a hard one to call but I think Cork will edge it and even if Cork lose they have had a good year. Ill go with Tipp in the other game I think Tipp have a better defence but it should be a cracking game.
Ah well Kilkenny and Galway final should be interesting. Kilkenny showed why they are so good, Tipp tried to play dirty but Kilkenny stood up to them and make them look like a camogie team to be fair.
Hell, were Tipp that bad? Had tickets, but couldn't get over (they didn't go to waste) Looks like it was a lucky call. Ah well, there's always next year.
I just don't know what else to add. I don't think it was won and lost on the sidelines as both teams went man for man and Tipp were well in it. The skill in such an intense game was amazing. They just had so much intent and intensity. I just hope Galway bring their a-game as I don't expect what they'll bring will be a shock this time.
I agree, a lot of talk after the game about poor tactics from Declan Ryan the way he used Corbett but in his defence I would say I don't think it was a bad idea, it just did'nt come off because Kilkenny were are as intense as I have ever seen them and I thought Tipp did well to be still in the game at half time.
