What ****ing Michael Owen where you watching?! Get out, from the point your opinion is of no matter to anyone.

Shush.

If you do watch that season again, you will see he put in more effort than a lot of people. Chasing down every ball isn't his style of play, never had been. And you can't just suddenly become able to do it. He was dropping so deep into midfield trying to win the ball back, not sprinting around like Rooney with no positional sense, he was making himself a 5th midfielder and holding that position. That year we went down i agree with SirBR, we had a lot of players who could not give a ****. We had a lot of passengers, and yes Owen wasn't on top form. But he wasn't getting service, he ended up attempting to be the provider!

As Owen was the captain of the team should he not have rectified that 'service' issue by talking to the players who look to him for guidance and reminding them of their roles?

If so then he failed as a captain.

If I seem to remember the penultimate match of the season was against Pompy, he had a 1 on 1 with David James and hit it straight at him...on two occasions! He didn't care and what sort of reaction did he think he was going to get last night, a massive round of applause for taking just over £40m over 4 years from us?!

Oh yeah he was a failure as captain. But that is Keegan's fault for appointing him captain in the first place.

I think the fact that he went from us to a Premiership Club to predomanently sit on the bench rather than play week in week out in the Championship, score a few goals and pay back the fans, says it all for this injury prone mercenary.

I remember that cause he was laughing and joking with James about it, cause James had his big hair at the time.

I want to know these facts....I really do. Maybe then we can, change our opinion. But, untill then,in my eyes he's a greedy, cheeky, ****e. He should be on our list of worst players ever, a list graced by the likes of Luque, Boumsong, Cort and Bramble.
