  1. I think there is a new-found respect between Chelsea and us Spurs fans.

The Arsenal fans will join the love-in, later in the season, just as soon as they realise just how bolloxed they are without RVP. At the moment, they still have something of their former arrogance about them.

The strength of ManU is vastly overrated this season. Vidic is a definite plus, but other than that nothing special.

I really don't rate your midfield, who knows if Scholes is able to bail you out this year. And RvP has shown he can't easily adapt to every team. At us he had a whole team working for him, as his pace has gone down quite drastically since his 'second striker' days. At a really good dutch side he was completely anonymous though. If he doesn't gel with the team, Ferguson's pride will probably mean he'll play him regardless to prove he was right in bringing him, which can cost you guys like it has with Netherlands.

The Arsenal keeper is better than Brad, Vermalen is better than any of our defenders, overall I would say Arsenal have the better team and squad ATM.

IF we buy soon, maybe things will change. Two strikers and a keeper, been saying it for months, still think the same.

Cheers for the run down PS <ok>
Our total assets including property owned are huge, some £290m. Obviously we have £210m in liabilities, giving the £80m net assets.

I would agree we are punching slightly above our weight, as Harry notably said.

Last season we did 5th best in the country, and we'd expect to do sixth best.

Although, there is an argument that Pool had a better season than us as they won the Lge Cup. It's not an argument I'd pursue too long one way or the other, and am happy to say we did slightly better than our finances would indicate.

Whether we'll have the 6th best season this time or better, mmmm.

The reality is you fared no better than any of us last season so I'd hold onto that ladder and climb down from that high horse <ok>

The property assets are £150m of which a bit over £25m is the capitalised costs of the NDP which will have to be written off if this doesn't go ahead. Total assets include cash/receivables of £40m and player values of £100m but there are also liabilities of £210m leaving the net assets of £80m. Actually payables in current liabilities look very high, implying that we've not actually paid the cash over for some big transfers.

Yeah. Saved out season and future within 2 months.

I had City nailed on for the title this year until you signed RVP and Aguero got crocked.

    It's official. He's now a Barca reserve.
I wonder who else is eyeing the door?

Vermaelen, judging by their track record with players handed the captaincy...

    <laugh> try harder.

Right now we could make 2 pairs of midfield combinations, and the leftovers would still make it in your first team. <laugh>

    Walcott presumably.

I'm avoiding commenting on the Arsenal board at the moment as I'd be seen as a wum but they're in total denial over there.

Last season they were telling anyone that would listen that they had the best striker in the World. He's become an overrated crock now he announced he wanted to leave.

When "one man team" jibes were sent at Arsenal last season they defended their team saying that you couldn't ignore the importance of the likes of Song. Now he's a liability who they robbed Barcelona by getting £15mill for him.

Realistically they've shown everyone at the club that they can leave when they want and don't seem to have learnt their lesson about letting players run their contracts down like last season.

Except we were much more likely to mention Arteta, Rosicky, Koscielny and Szczesny. But now that Song is gone, all other supporters are making him out to be a huge loss just to wum.

Song going was a surprise for me but now seeing what Wenger had lined up, it makes perfect sense. Even the likes of Wilshere will find it hard to start games in that midfield selection let alone Song.

I wonder what percentage of the profit on transfers goes in Wengers pocket? Redknapp used to get 10% at Pompey (or was it 15%). Wenger must get at least 20%. Thats (225M-45M)/5=£36M in the last 7 years. Over 5 million a year. Once you add on his salary he must be the best paid manager in the world.

I like the optimism from you gent, there's potentially some cracking names you've signed. I like what i've seen of Giroud in the past, and the same goes for Podolski. even the 2 times i've seen cazorla, he's seemed like a decent player. (although that's not much to judge him on). Then there's Nuri Sahin, who you're likely to get if you haven't already....

But I think everyone is jumping the gun a bit at the moment claiming how amazing your new set up is. Saying that wilshere (who is atop quality midfielder and probably your best player) will struggle to get into your team is a bit much at this early stage. none of the players I have just mentioned above, are proven in the Prem yet.

The same words were said by your fans about Gervinho and Chamakh before they signed, and they've turned out to be horrendous.

People just have incredibly short memories. Gervinho was our best player in the first half of last season. And no not just because he made cute dribbles. A stupid percentage of all our chances were created single-handedly by him even if he didn't make the final pass.

After the African Cup of Nations he was a different player, but Wenger didn't really start him in many matches for him to get form back.

well I'd like to think haven't got a short memory. - The reason I didn't mention Arshavin when I listed Gervinho and Chamakh, was because I remember Arshavin looking like a top player when you first signed him. some cracking goals and some very nice footwork. Unfortuantely, for you guys, he lost his way.

However, I have never seen Gervinho play well, I have to be honest. I remember him having a spell last season where he worked harder and closed the opposition down, but he just looked lost and completely out of ideas when he had the ball.
