Not nice to see all you City fans having a pop at each other, get over it, you'll be ok. (despite what Mikey say's)

rather bizarrely monarch, i watched your match at huish park last week! (i was in the area...)

had a nice chat with dave carolan - he was a bit surprised to see me there <laugh>

can't believe you've got clinton morrison playing for you now. city tried to pay £2m for his services once upon a time... <yikes>

Why the feck shouldn't we as fans be looking/expecting/wanting/desiring/hoping/pleading/desperately seeking/ My brain can't compute your point Thai. I'm trying to understand it, but am failing dismally

As a fan, you can do any of those you want, I just choose to rule out a couple of them, namely looking & expecting - I simply do not see why we should be looking for or expecting an away victory in the PL. I always hope, I have the desire to see Norwich City succeed, must admit I have not got round to pleading yet but I was desperately seeking something in the dark Championship days several years ago.

I have been told I am wrong by a few on here tonight and that is fine, I might even be in a small minority and that is also fine. It is how I see the world and the football team I follow and no-one can deny me that.

I will leave it there I think, you guys who don't agree with me, no worries. Support the team the way you want and I will continue to follow the same team from afar, the way I want. Just please don't accuse me of "getting on my high horse" because I do not agree with you or suggest your opinions may be questionable of even foolish. I had the decency to make a public apology for a few poorly chosen words in the heat of the moment but it appears it went un-noticed. Not to worry, it's not going to ruin my season.

ILD - You may feel that you do represent the club and I am not going to knock you for that, but the reality is you do not. By paying to watch the team does not make you part of the club, although it does make you part of a close knit fan base who share a common cause <ok>

I never said anything about not hoping to win, I hope we can win every game but I am realistic to acknowledge when we are likely to be beat on any given week, depending on the opponents. I hoed we would would win against Fulham but realistic enough to place a 3-0 defeat as my prediction for the prediction league, does this make me less of a supporter? I am sure it does not, it just makes me more of a realist.

I will ignore your last question, it does not deserve an answer <ok>

So you only go to games where you think we can win, that's NOT being a fan/supporter that's glory hunting! Perhaps you would like to enlighten us on here as to the games we SHOULD go to where we will win so we can all save some money!
I think that question does deserve an answer!!!

You are twisting what I said ILD. I have been to most grounds in the top 2 divisions over the years and quite few in the bottom 2 also.

I never went to Maine Road, and as results would show over the years, justifiably so. All I missed was a long succession of defeats, some of them of horrendous proportions. It was of the few places I would keep away from at all costs.

I went to Old Trafford 3 times and never expected anything, I was fortunate enough to see us win there 2-0. I never expected anything from trips to Anfield but have seen us win their twice, Highbury, 1 win and many defeats, Stamford Bridge, 2 wins, 2 defeats, White Hart Lane, 1 win, 4 defeats. It's not like I chose to avoid all the "big teams", I didn't but Man City & Coventry City were two places where I just would not spend my hard earned on going to. Still think I am a glory hunter?

i saw us win at maine road!! i think adrian coote scored if i remember correctly. what a nightmare ground that used to be for us. saw some terrible results there - usually a guaranteed 3-1 defeat at the very least. i'm struggling with the etihad too. two games, two defeats so far <laugh>

Exactly! Although most of my travelling to away grounds was in the mid 80's to mid 90's it was still a healthy % of the weekly salary and to effectively "waste" it on a trip to Maine Road or Highfield Road just didn't make any sense. Had we won (which we didn't) I may have been gutted, I was once when I missed a game at Plough Lane (another bad ground for us at the time) when we won 2-0. I did not chose to not go, I just couldn't go to that game on that day

You are twisting what I said

....isn't how this all started?

Anyway, I'm in full agreement with your previous post that we should stop squabbling amongst ourselves (I'm as guilty as anyone so I'm not pointing fingers) and get together behind the club we love before Saturdays game against koo pee arr, a game which I seriously hope we are all in agreement that we really should be hoping to get something from <cheers>

i don't think we can expect to get anything...

Thai, I still can't see your logic, we are constantly told that the fans are a hugh part of the club and it's success, especially the away support! Admittedly I don't go to ALL the away games, I have other commitments that can't be ignored, but I don't pick and chose the games on possible losses, or difficult games! If people can't afford to go to all games home or away in a season, then I fully understand that, but to pick and choose based on possible outcomes is incredible! The list doesn't impress me, I've supported the club since 1960, home and away, the 70's and 80's were taking your life in your hands to support your club due to hooliganism, but support them we did.
Being at places like Gillingham on a freezing November saturday being rained on, in a temporary stand with no roof was no fun, but we supported the club, and probably still would.
Sorry to say this but fairweather supporters or glory hunters don't do it for me!

In all fairness ILD if someone pays money for their tickets they can support the club however they like, even if different to myself. I just don't like booing our players as I don't see it as supporting the club, otherwise each to their own. <ok>

Yellow, let's not go down the booing route please, it's not something I've ever done or condone!
I agree you pay your money do what you like after that, but I don't like the glory hunting ethic, "Oh I think we can beat Wigan" so I'll go to that game, "I think we'll lose to Man City so I'll avoid that one". To me that's NOT supporting your team!!

ILD OTBC

i only went to fulham in order to gain some sort of retribution, closure maybe, for the last time i went! a bit like with charlton when we won promotion at the valley...

it didn't quite work on this occasion!

I am not condoning booing either, not sure whether you may have misread that.

i disagree, he pays and can go to whatever games he wants. I don't think its a problem myself by choosing a game based on probability. I wouldn't do it but don't see it as not supporting the club. Besides means more tickets for the big teams away.

I'm sorry but I can't keep quiet here, I hope this isn't the way this board is going to perform because very soon it will turn into one or two of you shouting and cursing at nobody, because all the decent regulars will have gone elsewhere!

In Thai's defence, I will say, initially he was a bit hasty with his retort for which he apologised, although the apology was ignored! As for the main gist of his comments, those of you that can't see that there is a world of difference between HOPING for a win and EXPRCTING a win, need to get a grip of the English language, it was stated quite plainly for all to see!

Let's end this STUPID, POINTLESS bickering now and get back to discussing football! We don't all have to agree, nor do we have to resort to petty name-calling! All those of you over 12 years old - ****ing well act like it!
