One from my watch list today in the form of CUT THE CARDS 5.30 Southwell 6-1 as I think this one has had the Jonjo kid gloves treatment thus far. Could have been let in on a very handy mark and is worth keeping an eye on for any market interest.

Big big fancy for Giofra in the 2.40 at Deauville today - 10F on decent ground should be right up her street.

    Some fancies at Southwell:

    2.30 Gunner Rose
    3.30 Shoegazer
    4.30 Cuban Piece

Nice little Lucky 15 for me, best of luck everyone <ok>

Have backed George Vancouver in the Morny. Reckless Abandon most likely winner but now very short. GV is a horse I really like and should be suited by better ground. 13/2

I was thinking that before the race RV, if he wins today, how long before Godolphin put an offer on the table if they havent already.

I would agree, has alot of speed and if you look at the recent winners of the Morny, Dream Ahead and Dabirsm both failing to stay the mile, id say hes of a similar mould, hell probably be in the Guineas betting now but I doubt many will be interested in backing him for that. He was alot more professional today aswell, didnt look as quirky so he is improving all the time and no reason to think he wont make a 3yo.

    Hello lads.

Nothing turf related for me today.

Quite interested in Real Betis against my boys this evening.

Athletic are going through a difficult time at present after the high's of last season. They have just sold their best two players and have had a torrid pre season. The relationship between players, fans and coach is more than a little fractious.

Tonight Athletic will also be minus Muniain,Amorebieta and Aurtenetxe including the other two vital players;ergo 5 key first team players won't be playing in a squad with problems on and off the field.

The lack of pace in the Athletic defence and the high line played by the full backs will afford the pacey Southeners plenty of contra opportunities.

Bearing in mind the visitors won this fixture last season and Athletic are slow starters I think Betis to win at 3/1 is decent and 7/4 draw no bet is even more attractive.

Will play both to cover all stakes but hope I'm wrong!

Quel,Martinez is off start of this week.

I actually think this guy is one of the best players in Europe and whilst his transfer fee is high he is only 23 and has huge resale possibilities.

    Athletic 0 Betis 1 (Rubin min7)

I agree he's a great talent but it's €40m. That's obscene for a defender/midfielder who's never played Champions League. I don't think they'd ever sell him on for a profit. He's either there for life or until the big lads from Spain start playing their games to unsettle him.
