    Did you see that it needs ok of Penarol, so not just the case of passing them their share. God, I hate foreign transfers...makes Holloway seem the height of reasonableness.

    I see Holloway had a meeting with all his players about Phillips. Looks like he's finished there. Just a question of who meets their valuation. No point keeping him now.

    Funny I got a different idea from the same interview. Thought Phillips had missed the game because his mind wasn't right, but he's been told he's staying.

    Yes but if it was me I wouldn't keep a player who isn't 100% committed to the club. Then again Holloway is loopy so who knows.

    Holloway has clearly says he has told the player he won't leave...

    "I just want to keep the players I have here now," added Holloway.
    "What we do we do together. We had a meeting about the Matt Phillips situation on Friday.
    "The situation was so public I couldn't lie to my players and tell them otherwise. He has handed in a transfer request but that means nothing.
    "They [Southampton] have offered £5m but we don't need the money. So what can they do? The player is on a contract and he's signed it."

    He might be staying at Blackpool Prison for a while longer!

    You can't keep a unhappy player end of the day. A player in time always gets what they want, which is sad really.

    On another point, Alan Nixon says Saints have made an audacious £7m move for Barcelona winger Cristian Tello.

    We'll try and take him on loan if we can't buy him.

    Nor does Nixon. He says that Barcelona have said we can have him on loan, IF he agrees a new long term deal at the Nou Camp.
