Don't understand how you need to buy the 2 parts of a player from 2 clubs....I thought you paid the home club and it was up to them to pay the previous club. Perhaps clubs outside Britain don't trust each other.

The problem with this Ramirez deal is that the player opened his mouth, probably to try and force it through. If done quietly and privately (TM: Nigel Adkins), negotiations would just be ongoing and we would have been none the wiser until it happened (or not).

Ramirez isn't owned 100% by Bologna. In Italy teams are able to co-own players so each have a share. This of it as investing in a company and one shareholder has 70% equity, the other 30%.

I dont mean this as a wind up but I have to ask, if Ramirez was approached by Tottenham, Liverpool and Inter Milan, and linked to Man City, then why did he choose Southampton?

Every prospect is shown a dvd which is adjusted especially for them. Buttner mentioned that he was amazed to see shots of himself included. Jos mentioned that we were a tropical paradise with palm trees...just what you need to get someone from Scotland<laugh>

First team football?, has been told we are building to be a big(ish) team. Who knows but he liked the idea.

The first one seems plausable. Maybe he thinks if he has a season or so at Southampton and performs well then regardless of whether Southampton get relegated or not he can secure a place at a bigger club on bigger wages as a first team player and start chasing titles.

BAWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For all your inbred talk on the Liverpool group about us having delusions of grandeur, this is pissingly funny payback from the universe.

That article certainly isn't written with agenda written on its forehead but you have your fun. I suppose after the "big four" chucked you out you need something to keep yourself happy with :)

Exactly why no fan should sound off until its official. Our manager keeps telling us this, but some never learn. This may still have legs, but anyway shows the kind of money we have. There will be other irons in the fire.

Surprised by some of the responses on the 'pool board, that famous scouse humour has apparently long gone (if it ever existed). I think they do fear the snapping jaws of hungry newcomers as they sink slowly down the food chain.

The real issue about the Ramirez saga (win or lose) is that we bid at a level far in excess of what most Saints fans expected at this stage, and indeed what the rest of the footy world thought we would/could. A real statement of intent.
