1. John Ruddy 2. Russell Martin 3. Steven Whittaker 4. Bradley Johnson 6. Michael Turner 7. Robert Snodgrass 8. Jonny Howson 9. Grant Holt 10. Simeon Jackson 11. Andrew Surman 12. Anthony Pilkington 13. Declan Rudd 14. Wes Hoolahan 15. David Fox 16. Steve Morison 17. Elliott Bennett 19. James Vaughan 20. Leon Barnett 21. Jacob Butterfield 22. Elliott Ward 23. Marc Tierney 24. Ryan Bennett 25. Chris Martin 26. Simon Lappin 31. Jed Steer First thing I notice is no number 5. Centreback obviously on Hughton's radar. Surprised with the amount of changes. Morison, Howson, Vaughan all different numbers. Also no number 18, possibly a forward?
Whys the King of Spain lost his number 19 shirt? Also feel sorry for the poor sod in my village who got the new away short with Howson 24 on his shirt!
I have a feeling Lapps and Martin could be on their way out. Obviously the shirt numbers could mean nothing, but there was a gap for Naughton last year when they were confirmed.
So my lads shirt that says Morison 5 purchased at great expense, what is the point in changing existing numbers other than to try and force parents to shell out again!
It's on the official site, so it's legit. No idea why Garrido isn't on there in all honesty, is the transfer still for international clearance?
Ouch, I feel for you there. That's a good point, I imagine a lot of people would have got Howson 24 on their shirts as well.
As Smith, Francomb and Adeyimi are still under 21 years old they don't need to be officially registered in the squad. That means that they will have a number in the squad but it won't be a fixed on like the rest of the squad Yeah, I think its still subject to international clearance.
well that list is 25 players, so add garrido to 26, less steer is u21 that's 25 maybe the youngsters are going on loan edit- just seen dazz's post, fair enough
you can read about as much into squad numbers as you can pre-season matches to be honest. i have only ever had one name on the back of my shirt - it was in 1994, the first year of squad numbers! i got 'robins - 12' on the back. i was so happy with it. we sold him the following month. the moral of this story is, never ever buy a name and number of a player on the back of your shirt unless you are prepared for disappointment when they a) move on or b) change it. get your own name if you must
While I agree with Supers about the risks of getting names on shirts, personally I've only ever had my own name, I can see why Stilljarold is hacked off. Kids want their favourite players name on their shirt. If the player is sold, that's unfortunate but its a risk you take. If the squad numbers are released and players have numbers changed for the sake of it then that's just going to ask for complaints from fans, especially how expensive it is to get names on shirts.
totally with you jarrold, but its just the way of the world - sometimes you get disappointed. sad but true - fans are an after thought these days
I also did the same. Nearly always get a name/number it represents a time in your norwich fan history when I look back and think yeah I really liked him... Shame i've got a shirt with croft 7 on though and about 5 with huckerby 6
You are right supers I have 3 young boys so with all the season tickets and kits it just gets a bit too expensive and this just shows how little the club care for the normal family man but that's life I suppose will see my boss and put in a transfer request
