I don't know, so long as it stays 2-0 and we have the goal difference advantage I'm not too worried, they'd still need to better us by near enough a goal a game so it's in our hands. We'll still be above them, it keeps the pressure off us because we'll be down to a 1/3 chance instead of 1/2 chance of replacing Leeds if they lose, and it adds it to the pressure on Leeds if we all queue up behind them ready to pounce on a mistake.
I kinda think it IS good news actually. They are making contact with us, but still have a harder schedule (hard word to spell) than us. They will have something to play for against Leeds, which will make that game more important.
a very interesting run in... i think that leeds v burnley game could end our promotion hopes. leeds win would be bad for us, as would a burnley win. Derby County v Burnley Burnley v Portsmouth Leeds United v Burnley Burnley v Cardiff City
I'm thinking it might not be too bad because it will give Boro even less to play for on Saturday. I'm hoping they don't really get stuffed though as they could come here with something to prove. Wounded animal syndrome.
the problem is that burnley score more goals than us, that goal difference advantage wont last for long, trust me.. also there's still plenty of time for burnley to score more tonight
Of course, we could look on the bright side. Boro have been terrible tonight defending set pieces. We could score a few ourselves on Saturday.
Yeah, but if we win on that day too, we will cancel out whoever won the Leeds v Burnley match, and one of them will lose out on 3 points. As long as we're not behind the winner after that day.
A Burnley win is the best result in that game at the moment. If they draw Leeds end up on 66 points with a +10 gd. If Burnley win they end up on 66 points with a +5 goal difference (based on 3-0 tonight). We beat M'boro and we're on 66 with a +7 goal difference. Obviously the ideal for that game will change over the weekend when we what happens in the Easter double header.
