Would be one situation where leaking to the press might be in the team's interest, actually. Takes the sting out of the accusation that they're going behind the back of Blackpool's management.

And 6m is a hefty enough bid that I'd be a little surprised if Blackpool simply rejected it, unless it's very heavily structured.

Good shout

Its good to be back getting under the skins of the "majority" of posters on here who think their opinions are the only ones that count and always the same ones who agree with each other! Bring on Sunday and season!!

A lot of you who all praise the same players and attack the same players you don't like are in for a big shock this season.
How do you think Sharp will do :p

Yes that does sound stupid doesn't it. And it was almost exactly what you said, to paraphrase: "Lack of pace hasn't held us back in the lower leagues, so we don't need to add it now."

I didn't say we don't need pace, it's an area we can and will improve but people seem to think it's the be all and end all of football.

Apparently Buttner deal is still on, Vitesse and Buttner are trying to sort out the differences.

Just did some reading into the Buttner issue.

His Dad has a "finder's fee" contract. Vitesse dispute that.

He wants 600,000 euro for travelling costs etc. for the duration of his son's prospective contract, say for 3 or 4 years in England.

He has been offered 275,000 - he rejected it. They went to court as Buttner has been forced to train alone and is not being played by Vitesse at all.

Saints were asked if they would subsidise this deal, which they refused as they had never agreed this contract.

The family took Vitesse Arnhem to court and Buttner lost the case (apparently) and Vitesse say their compensation offer stands.

Gee, thanks dad!
