    He's actually signed! 24 million.

What do we make of this? Is this good for our chances of forth?

Will united win the league? Are arsenal a feeder club?

    Cannot believe Wenger agreed.

24M for an injury prone Striker in the last year of his deal isn't bad business, unless he stays fit for the next four years! I'm disappointed in RVP, thought he had more class about him than to join the Mancs.

Citeh for the league, chances of fourth enhanced, Arsenal are always going to lose their best players if they don' twin trophies.

Some very interesting valid questions there B4F. The sort of questions one would expect on a rival watch thread.

I still think Arsenal are strong enough, I said this before with the assumption that RVP will leave.

He's not signed yet. They've agreed a deal but still have to agree personal terms and pass a medical (could be interesting....)

If United weren't our historic rivals and I didn't hate them with a passion then it's a great deal for us : it strengthens a team that we are not competing with and weakens one that we are in direct competition wiht

Won't pass a medical. A grain of sand is lodged in his toe nail, he needs major corrective surgery.

Yeah, my thoughts. Whoever United buy doesn't really bother me too muh. Same goes with City at the moment. Arsenal and Spurs however I do take note.

When did he suddenly get ****? Did it happen overnight?

Anyway, was never 100% on this for some of the reasons you have said Bow but it makes alot of sense.

This has been a very very good week at United, what a way to go into the season.

Welbeck signs new contract, Fletcher returns, RVP signs.......a young Chilean kid also signed so a very good positive week for United.

No one has said he's ****? Just it's a lot of money to spend on a 29yr old who is well known to be extremely injury prone. Will be a good signing if he stays fit for another 3 years and helps you win the title, but if he has his usual 15 games and 7 goals a season it will look like a terrible deal...

Bet Welblack wish he didn't sign now, unless he fills in for traitor persie when hes injured. We had a young Chilean kid once, hope it works out as well for you as it did us.

Who said he has become ****? He's a class above and we all know it.

With his injury record he's a gamble. Keep him fit and you're right in the mix again and will push Citeh all the way...if he goes back to his normal injury prone self then it's a total waste (as with any transfer to be fair). Add to that the fact that this is fergies last throw of the dice and it's a lot of pressure...almost like the pressure he had playing for Holland in The Euros.

Ps. Forget Fletcher, Welbeck and some Chilean kid...your biggest boost is having Vidic back (how long that will last who knows)

PPs. What was it you were saying the other day about money ruining the game? Tell it to the gutted Gooners

Thoroughly disgusted in Wenger for this, dont hate him but opinion well and truly down, prob not his fault as money and player power prob played huge part. He should have walked out over this, before all utd fans get on their high horse remember heinze and who stopped that transfer and I for one understood why it is just not the done thing to sell not to a rival but a nemesis, utd arsenal is a great rivalry throughout the prem years and this underlines a number of things and money being a big one. Shocked, in the same way i will be if we allow Agger to go to city or if we allowed him to utd.

No, they have, Arsenal fans, some Liverpool fans and others are calling him **** purely because hes signed for United.

Hes been fit for a while now so theres no sign of an injury troubling him, though of course they are hardly planned.

Plus at United theres less expectation on him to carry the team, so he should be fine <ok>

Hes score 48 goals in his last 56 games i the PL aswell <ok>

No utd fan will see the hypocracy in anything their manager says, tbf we would probably be the same with our manager.

Welbecks just signed a £75000 a week contract, I am sure he knew RVP was coming and he signed knowing he would get game time. Fergie wont rush him, he played far more than Fergie wanted last season but thats because Berbatov and Hernandez didnt perform.
