One of Rodents worst signings. No mean feat. Watched his debut against Coventry and he got subbed in the first half. He was so bad his only competition was Otsemobor he only played 3 games. No idea about whether the caps are true. But it rings a bell going back to when he signed. You can see the headlines "Norwich swoop for Spanish International"
Loan signing for LB is a good choice. We however need a permanent signing (Bridcutt) for DM and a CB (Martin, Whittaker and E.Bennett can cover the RB slot)...I am not at all comfortable with Turner, R.Bennett and Ward as our only decent CBs (Barnett is not PL class FACT) as injuries always occur and it is naive to think that injuries to 2 simultaneously doesn`t happen. That said, there is almost guaranteed to be a recall clause attached to Ayala`s loan with Forest surely? He will be playing regularly in the Championship and by January will be ready should we require him to return.
Judging by the photo of him on the EDP website could be a strategic signing to take the focus off Holty's weight.... makes Grant look skinny!
Like the comment from a Man City fan," What a nice lad Garrido is, steady, takes a brilliant free kick, unfortunately when we had him, Barton was here and he took all the free kicks, thrown ins corners etc. Javier was be an asset to Norwich, he does lack pace and will never make a wing back, but will give you 100%". Here at Norwich we excel at giving out-of-favour, hungry, hard-working, ambitious players a 2nd chance
This is beginning to look likely. A loan could suit both club and player and certainly solve the LB vacancy. He's said to be a good defender as well as a pacey overlapping wing-back which all sounds good to me. Still another place left for a DMF as well. Hope it happens.
The last spanish player I remember playing for us came from Merseyside (Liverpool) and I wouldn't mind having him back (Pacheco!)
Apologies wasn't thinking about the current squad, Ayala is still ours even though he has gone out on loan, I was thinking about players who are no longer with the City first team on a permanent basis. Even though we have Snodgrass, which I think is a fantastic signing, I believe we need another striker up front as I regard Snodgrass as more of an attacking midfielder than a striker due to the fact many of his roles have been played on the wing and I would like to see another centre forward brought into the club to give Holt a bit more support, as he cannot carry the responsibility of scoring all the goals on his own. If Holt gets injured or suspended who is the best striker to take his place?
Strange for the BBC to report stuff before anyone else. Although they credit BBC radio Norfolk, so I've answered my own question Garrido having medical ( not worth separate thread when we've already got his one running ) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19283448?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
