From Wikipedia: "characterized by his constant overlapping runs."

Sounds like he would work great with pilks

Think free kicks will be Bob Snod and Pilks anyway. Suppose if they don't play good thing to have but I don't think set piece takers is too bad.

    http://www.football-italia.net/23430/lazios-garrido-set-norwich

This is the link on the BBC site.

Anybody who plays 46 games for Man City is well worth a look IMO and "Garrido played a part in the most successful Premiership start in the club's history with four victories and four clean sheets from the opening six games", before the Sheikh spent his hundreds of millions on them. He has played for Real Sociedad, Man City and Lazio. Rated by transfermarket as high as £4m, which indicates that he was a top player, and not some 2nd rate journeyman.

The article above says a loan with option to buy, sounds like a good deal, if he is injured we send him back, if he is a success, he'll provide good competition with Tierney on the left.
Besides this season, we have Martin and Whittaker fighting it our for RB, and with Drury gone, LB is a weak area besides Lappin. The loan would therefore give us security, and should we need to reinforce in January, we can go out and get one on a permanent. This flexibility is a sensible choice.

Gets my approval for sure, far better to spend the remaining transfer funds on a CB and a DM. So far as I'm concerned Holt, Morro and Vaughan will do a good enough job, and its not like our midfield don't know where the back of the net is ;), especially now with Snodgrass, Pilkington and Surman (all of whom are strong scoring threats).

I would also like to see the 2nd loan signing as Thorgan Hazard (Chelsea). His brother rates him higher than himself, and seeing as we have a pedigree in taking league 1 players and converting them in a short period of time (matter of months), he might come in useful later in the season? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorgan_Hazard. Just my view, but I think the lad would be a quick learner given the opportunity; doesn't hurt to try, I'm sure he's better than that waste of space De Laet was!

From the sounds of the rumours in the last few days, we are in for some surprises in the lead up to the end of the window...

Unfortunately completely disagree with that bit that's in bold.

I don't think Chelsea would have signed Thorgan Hazard if Eden Hazard hadn't signed. Good prospect but not sure he will be an amazing player. Also think if De Laet cuts his mistakes out he would be a very good defender. He had Torres and Drogba in his pocket last season at Stamford Bridge.

Agree with the rest of it mind <ok>

Fair enough, not everyone has the same opinions with respects to how a player will turn out.

I agree that if Eden wasn't signed, Thorgan wouldn't have been snapped up. However they have never played together for/in the same team...2 years down the line, is a different prospect. Highly likely that he will be loaned out to League 1 or Championship side. My thoughts were just given our prior success at bringing on Pilkington, E.Bennett etc, why not him too?

TO be fair, potential is difficult thing to judge anyway, you could well be right and he does turn out brilliant. But would Lens let him go for £880k if he was going to be as good? I could be wrong though.

That's a fair comment at the bottom, probably one difference being is that Pilkington and Bennett had a point to prove after being released or sold by Premier League teams which probably instilled the hunger and determination in their game which I think makes them so good and adaptable.

I thought Bennett came from 'newly promoted to the Championship' Brighton and Pilks from League 1 Huddersfield? Therefore fail to understand your comment in bold type.

They were originally at prem clubs ie Bennett was at wolves and pilks at blacburn. Never given a chance at those clubs and so had something to prove... Noing behold look who stayed up and who went down!

Don't forget Foxy who started his career at Old Trafford and therefore came with a decent bit of pedigree.

Just reading about Juan Velasco and the name is familar but I have very, very little recollection of him playing for us. Was he one of the Rodents signings? And if so, how on earth did he go on to win 5 caps for Spain? Or is that a Wiki wind-up by somebody because I find it almost impossible to believe someone who wasn't good enough for us in the Championship would have made it to the Euros just a year or so after he left us.

Garrido sounds a good signing by the way, very happy with it if it comes to anything

It was the pink un that retweeted the link late last night, it takes them a little longer to get details into actual print.
Let's hope there's some mileage in this one - unlike some that have been touted recently.
(All quiet on the Honduran front so far today! <laugh>)

    Wiki says:

Javier Garrido Behobide (born 15 March 1985 in Irun) is a Spanish footballer who currently plays for Premier League side Norwich City F.C.. He is a left back characterized by his constant overlapping runs.

Wait for the club to say something?

I believe we're probably weighing/have weighed these two left back options. I think both are great and would work well.
