Just reading the "Scout's Report" on City's website. I hope our defence don't have any neck injuries as they will be facing a barrage of route one high balls tonight. Northampton's main strikers are Adebayo Akinfenwa (ex-Swansea so plenty of scope for a certain chant there) and Clive Platt, ex-Coventry. Akinfenwa is about 6 ft and Platt is 6 ft 4 ins. Neither are well known for their subtle ball skills and with Aidy Boothroyd as manager we can expect a lot of Eddie Waring type "up and unders". With Lewis in goal for us at 6 ft 5 ins he should be able to cope with a lot of the stuff into the 6 yard box but I wonder what our back four will be. Malky on WoL says all our main back 4 are carrying knocks from Saturday so could we see McNuggs (if fit), Keinan, Nugent and Saint. Luce with some of the other first choice 4 on the bench? Midfield looks strong with Kiss, Whitts, Conway, Mutch, Ralls and possibly McPhail to chose from. Up front we look a bit thin with only Mason, Helguson (if fit after his head injury on Saturday) and Jarvis. After that its just the youngsters. Like Oxford last year it will be interesting to see which 11 start the game.
Trying to get all my meetings in Cheltenham sorted early so I can get back to Cheshire in time to listen to the game. Lots of guys away on international duty so: Lewis Kev Nugent K9 Taylor Mason Mutch McPhail Ralls Conway Heider Replace McPhail and Heider early in the second half with Kev off slightly after.
ccfc 1. What, no Whitts? 2. You're in Cheltenham, so you're half way there (nearly) according the map I've just printed off. Come to the game, you know you want to. Looks like a bit of a cross country trip this afternoon (rather than M4, M50, M5, M42, M6 and M1) going close to Stroud and Oxford before heading to Northampton. Coming back the map takes me via Swindon as quickest route. If that's the quickest coming back, why isn't it the quickest going? Come on, own up, who else is going?
McPhail needs a run out as does Mutch and not sure we'd want to risk Whitts. Could bring him off the bench. Might be half way there Blue, but getting home is the problem. It was nearly midnight before I got back to Cheshire after the Cheltenham game! Only took me 10 minutes to get there though. This line up shows our depth in midfield but exposes the cover at the back. It would be good for Nugent to get 90 mins, I've got high hopes for him in the next few seasons.
No sure if this will work, a live stream. http://www.atdhe24.net/live/livestream25-vs/watch-livestream25.html
Cardiff City FC ‏@CardiffCityFC Team: Lewis, Oshilaja, Keinan, Nugent, John, Conway, McPhail, Ralls, Sainte-Luce, Mason, Helguson. Subs: Mutch, Parish (gk), Jarvis, Darko, O'Sullivan, Hill, Wharton.
anyone know any live streams? I checked the site above and i couldn't find any sites that were showing it.
The front 6 look as if they could do some damage, just hope the back 4 can hold together. Apart from Mutch, not mutch (hmm that doesn't sound right) on the bench. I'd like us to sneak through this one as a few extra games for the squad players will do them good.
I hope that McPhail doesn't break down again. He could do with some good fortune and he'd be a good squad player to have the the others we've brought in. 20 minutes for Mutch would help as well.
