Just reading the "Scout's Report" on City's website. I hope our defence don't have any neck injuries as they will be facing a barrage of route one high balls tonight. Northampton's main strikers are Adebayo Akinfenwa (ex-Swansea so plenty of scope for a certain chant there) and Clive Platt, ex-Coventry. Akinfenwa is about 6 ft and Platt is 6 ft 4 ins. Neither are well known for their subtle ball skills and with Aidy Boothroyd as manager we can expect a lot of Eddie Waring type "up and unders".
With Lewis in goal for us at 6 ft 5 ins he should be able to cope with a lot of the stuff into the 6 yard box but I wonder what our back four will be. Malky on WoL says all our main back 4 are carrying knocks from Saturday so could we see McNuggs (if fit), Keinan, Nugent and Saint. Luce with some of the other first choice 4 on the bench?
Midfield looks strong with Kiss, Whitts, Conway, Mutch, Ralls and possibly McPhail to chose from.
Up front we look a bit thin with only Mason, Helguson (if fit after his head injury on Saturday) and Jarvis.
After that its just the youngsters. Like Oxford last year it will be interesting to see which 11 start the game.
