Was he the best player in the Bundesliga? I can think of a better player off the top of my head, he's called Mario Goetze.

Lets list the top class players UNited have managed to sign since Ronaldo left them 80m in the kitty

United have been knocked back many times since he left including the summer he left.

Ozil and the likes are not into being managed by someone that treats players like stock and goes to the media crying like a shellshocked WW1 war veteran when a player wants to leave

You actually believe that dont you?

    Delusions finest hour <ok>

Quick tip, saying I have been pasted, battered, mocked or proved wrong means nothing. Doing it would actually help but considering that every sensible none moronic LFC has agreed with my point, along with Newcastles representatives and laughed at some of the insane stuff posted here by certain members I would suggest you check your facts.

The basic point was Fergie was a hypocrite because hes done the same. The facts are he hasnt, at least not with Rooney. Its been established rooney was proven and its also been established that we paid £10million for him not £29million as some claim. The rest was paid later dependent on conditions being met. Safe to say if they were met they were worth the extra sums. Instalments as with all United transfers made up a part aswell. People tried to use inflation to justify their points but this was shocking debating, it means **** all. Different times and money had a different value then, spending a million now is far more insane than spending a million in 2004. Moura was unproven in europe, hell he wasnt overly proven in Brazil. The fees paid for him in total are over 100million euros.

Now tell me, how in the **** is that the same or even close?

Then some full on gimps turned up and went mental, me and eric made you all look a bit daft and the rest as they say....is history!

    Lets recap...

some believe I am from China because I said so but dont believe when I state who our top transfer target was this summer <ok>

Some believe KE was really agreeing with them, unaware it was all planned <ok>

Some believe no United player has ever impressed individually <ok>

Some believe 25million and 35million are the same <ok>

Some believe a player who barely played last season was better than the german POTY <ok>

Some think buying the german POTY means we are in decline <ok>

Whonext entire catalogue of posts <ok>

Some liverpool fans are able to see the differences and able to put petty rivalry aside to make sensible comments that may or may not agree <ok>

I think that concludes this thread quite well.

He's still a better player all round than Kagawa, before this summer, I'm sure you had never heard of him. All of a sudden he's Zidane and Kaka rolled into one. Most people have heard of Mario Goetze and know he's a terrific player. I think who you are refering to is not Mezut Ozil but Semi Khedira. Understandable as they are both German internationals.

Kagawa was in the 2011-2012 Budesliga team of the year, even whilst being injured. I know it is funny to say that they got him because of the asian market but he is a quality player. Was quality the year before but Goetze and Sahin pipped him out in midfield.

    Oh dear...

You do know Kagawa was the playmaker helping make Goetze look good dont you, out of interest.

Do you know anything about kagawa? anything at all or are you using the fact you have no clue and the fact hes japanese and thus its impossible for him to be top class as you method to judge him?

In 2010 a thread was started on redcafe that was closed on completion of his signing to be replaced by a new thread. It had everything you needed to know about the player. So yes, I knew who he was, not much but enough to know we have been watching him for some time and he was our primary target this summer because hes a player who will go straight into the first team and hes one of the most creative around.

Just because hes japanese doesnt make him ****.

Tbh it depends. Too many factors to put it as simply as that.

For example some players will look world class in one league but move to another and do horribly (Shevchenko, Pizarro, Veron), some players will be made to look better than others because the team is based around their strengths and disguises their weaknesses and some players find it hard to step up from a poorer league into a bigger one.

Transfer fees can only truly be judged in hindsight and we won't really know if the £12/17m was good business until a couple of seasons down the line.

    Some common sense.

    A genuinely top class player.

    Also Bundesliga POTY for 2011/2012.

Going to go out on a limb here but everyone slagging him off is going to eat their words, he will be one of the best players in the league next season and for the foreseeable future.

True, also helped confirm one of my earlier points in this thread.

Hes looked very good in pre season mind, came on v Barcelona and was good aswell. Only pre season but hes looking like hes settled well. Big things to come from the lad.

See how much better its become now some sensible posters have arrived <ok>

I'll wait to see how it goes there with the settling but I do rate him highly, same with Honda and Enzo for the Japanese. But can't agree with your Rio assessment earlier, gotta go with my boy Lucio. did it Internationally, in Germany and in Italy, and has won everything possible.

I loved Lucio but he seemed a late bloomer. At one point you could even call him a liability ten suddenly he was a wall that no man could breach.

Still rate Rio as the best defender in the world at his peak, there was no defender like him, he had the control and touch of a top class midfielder, the arrogance and swagger of a playmaker and the defensive abilities of the very best in hostory. He couldnt single handedly win England a world cup after all.

Judge him when he played with equals, at United, there was no better imo.

Anyway thats not the point bluffington, if he fails ( kagawa ) I will gladly say I was wrong, I am confident he wont. I mean look at the last player we signed that most people had no clue about, he did pretty well the little chicarito :D

Struggling a bit now isn't he? This is a big season for him, needs to show it wasn't a one year wonder. I think Kagawa will do well, wish we had him and am still hoping for ramiez, Tello, or/and Sahin. Doubt it but gotta have some hope.

A full pre season will do him good. Tbh he was never meant to be so good so early, we wanted to develop him but you just cant refuse game time to a player that in form.

He will play less games but develop so much more this season I reckon.

yep and still spouting the same ****e about how he has proven his case proved everyone else to be fools and no Liverpool fans now think Fergie is a hypocrite on this matter.

Ps no doubt he will try to use the primary school debating tactic of saying anyone who thinks fergie is a hypocrite is either biased or too stupid to understand the reasons.
