Well the Liverpool owners did say they will spend what the club earns, and should the club recieve CL revenue they will spend CL revenue. They don't have massive interest payments against them. For that reason I cannot see a reason why when Liverpool make their return to the CL, they can't outbid Manchester United for players.
There isn't one which brings us full circle....Fergie is a hypocrite who is pissed that he has missed out on his 2 top transfer targets and been left with a Japanesse player no-one else wanted (go on UIR - bite little fishy!!)
If and its a massive If currently. In no way can Liverpool match our spending power, we could spend 50million a year if we wanted too but thats the actions of a inexperienced and usually poor manager or one who is at a club with billionaire backers bankrolling the club. We have a solid squad who need a few tweaks here and there or a player to bring in over the course of a few years. Its what we have always done. Once every so often we spend a little more on a player who is considered top class.
No need to bite, just allow everyone to read the above and take it all in. I will say Kagawa was our primary target, long before any of the other 2 but dont let facts get in the way of delusion my old friend sat in ****
And how would you know who your primary targets are/were. Sit in on board meetings from your class room in China do you?
Yeh.... erm..... in 2010 we looked at signing the lad while in Japan but felt it wasnt the right time. Hes been watched numerous times by fergie or our scouts, usually discussed in the massive thread on Redcafe and was already in discussions with us before we even made a move for Hazard. Of course dont let your delusion cloud facts or anything.
We've been watching Kevin De Bruyne for 2 years but he wasn't our primary target. Primary target means the one you want the most, not the one you've been watching the longest. Jesus, someone help this fool before he falls over and hurts himself.
We could spend £50 million if we wanted to? Why didn't you? Why was it last season that instead of signing CL standard players, you didn't sign CL standard players. There is a reason for that, you can no longer attract the better players, other clubs offer bigger wages than you. The truth be known Uniteds two main targets Eden Hazard and Lucas Moura joined other clubs, because they were offered better wages and the clubs that bought them offered fees United can't offer.
Pretty poor business from Man Utd if they were looking at him in 2010. He was available for under £1m back then. 2 years on they've had to pay £17m for him. Its not as bad as the Bebe case where something dodgy MUST have gone on for them to pay £7m for a player who was available on a free earlier on in the summer. Its definitely poor business though.
Hmmm, So Kagawa was our primary target. I think you should quit now, its going to get even more embarrassing than it already has got for you today Telling a Man Utd fan who our primary targets were....... brilliant. Doesnt matter that Kagawa and the role he played and the fact he will go straight into the team where as the other 2 youngsters wouldnt get regular first team football does it. Like I said, quit while you still can
We looked at him and saw potential but this was the japanese league and the timing was off. Now hes come to europe and impressed immensely the £17million ( total not what we have paid, only if hes a success will it be £17million ) isnt a bad price for the best player in germany last season. the best player in any league for £17million or £12million as we have paid is brilliant business I am sure you will agree.
Really? Are you really telling me to quit given that absolute pasting you've had on here all afternoon? Priceless.
Seriously pal, why? We rarely sign world class players, we often sign players under many clubs radars ( Jones, Young, Smalling etc were all wanted by other clubs, including Liverpool in the former 2's case ). Highly sort after youngsters or obscure talents ( dont rate Young myself ). Its how its always been done at United so why its suddenly shocked a few I dont know. Our wages for Moura were £30k....... PSG are paying him £200k. Would you pay it? Hazard was the same, dont know exact figures but £160k was a figure banded about and seeing as you all believe the press when they say Rooney is on £250k then I assume you beleive the figures above which are what has been reported. You can see why we didnt sign either, the agents fees dont even need mentioning.
