My mate sent me the following tweet - No idea if it is genuine or not - If a twitter junkie can confirm??

Not bothered. Cant stand him but beggars cant be choosers. We've no money and unlikely to get any so well be looking at signing dogshit like him for years to come

I know he is hated by many but I don't mind the thought of him joining us if I am honest. Please feel free to bookmark this and rub my nose in it when he screws up big time...

To be fair pal the fans are split on this one, I dislike him as a man, but as a player he can be very good at times, is he worth the risk !! I have to say yes and agree with you.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that if Warnock signs Diouf then my patience for his management will start swiftly running out. Don't want a player like him and I don't want a manager who signs players like him.

Like I said pal the fans are divided, is he worth a second chance with us ?

Same mate that sent me the link and news has just informed me:

Very strong rumours Diouf has penned a two year deal - Even more so that apparently Michael brown squad number now changed to 17 from 21 with 21 being Dioufs favourite number

Simon Lenighan is 100% an professional Leeds United player. He was one of the recent youth players that signed a professional contract. Just a couple of days ago I was chatting with Si on Twitter, that is his account.

No. Hardmen are fine, but I don't want a sneaky, cheating, spitting little piece of **** cockroach like Diouf, and I don't want a manager who would sign him.

Especially one who stands over players who've just suffered career threatening injuries taunting them about it. You'd think Warnock and Kenny would be against the signing more than most given it was Jamie Mackie in the Blackburn/QPR FA Cup game that he did it to (him and Salgado I think had gone in for a 50:50 and the injury was the unfortunate result). Next up will be Andy Townsend coming in as a coach, since that night on the highlights program he was laughing about it and saying he couldn't see why Warnock and the QPR players were so upset about it, it was just Diouf being the master wind up merchant everyone knows him to be.

Said it a few times before, but I'd be surprised and very disappointed if Diouf does sign. And I'll lose a bit of respect for Warnock.

It's not just because of the incredibly accurate character description Simon have above, but I just don't think he is all that great as player. He can come up with something special now and again, but I've never really seen evidence of consistency from him? There has to be better options out there, even without a cash injection.

If there were better players on a free I would love them to join but I just can't see it. Bates still controls the purse strings at present and NW is not allowed to buy anyone else unless he sells first. Pugh, Rogers, Connolly, Nunez, Paynter and a Keeper who nobody wants, seriously we would be lucky to get £100K for those, we would have to hope the combined saved wages permitted a spend of £1M for Templeton but who is going to buy them??

Fully agree with you that we'd struggle to get much cash out of the transfer listed players, even if we do manage to shift them at all. I've pretty much given in on any hope of getting a signing like Templeton in now, surely Liam Lawrence is worth a look though, might as well keep adding to the Pompey contingent that we now have!

I believe he has had talks with Cardiff... I would have preferred him over Norris and Varney on paper although a few reports have said Varney has looked good pre-season. Hard to judge when you are playing such poor opposition with non league friendlies.
