True but it was still a poor decision (hindsight is a wonderful thing). From a financial perspective, it is a good deal. But so were the Torres and Alonso deals, and look at the impact their departures have made. Agger gives us so much to the defence (when not injured) and he is a big part of a settled spine of Reina, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Gerrard and Suarez. These are the core players that we cannot afford to let go of.
if Agger leaves it will be to Spain where he is having a new house built circa £2m. I still think he will stay for at least another season. As a central defender he still has a good 6 yrs at the top provided he does not get injured which has always been his problem.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfers-daniel-aggers-price-1238454 Nice to see Liverpool demanding big fees for a player, and also Agger having the YNWA tattooed on his fingers are reassuring. But if he does go, we can safely expect some cash coming in.
Had some info via the infamous Duncan Jenkins that Agger does not in anyway want to leave and its the club who are encouraging it because we have no money and the Carroll deal has gone out the window, so were looking at selling Agger to raise the required funds. This is all on the club, not Danny. He's settled and loves Liverpool and has other business interests here that ties him to the area. If Carroll went for the desired fee we wouldn't be hearing anything about Danny. Its a shame he aint on Twitter so he could be assured that no fans want to see him leave just to make him fight harder to stay.
We would kill (or pay through the roof) for a world class player who loves this club, and now we want to get rid of one? Ian Ayre needs to stay out of team affairs - if the manager and Agger are both agreed that he wants to stay and is in the plans, then that should be it.
If true, this would def spell doom for these owners. Especially if Agger came out and stated he wanted to stay and loved the club. It would feel wrong.
It is as far as I am aware. Agger has come out recently saying he loves the club, and again in the last few days. In addition to the YNWA tattoo he has just got on his knuckles. If he leaves it will be LFC forcing it, not him.
I thInk tonight just went to show how balanced Agger keeps our defence, unless it really silly money like fifty mil really just not worth losing him
Don't fall for the Badge-Kissing. This isn't the 1950's If a Player moves, it's because he wants to, Clubs can't sell contracted Players against their wishes.
Wouldn't read too much into the shirt being handed to someone, a lot of players do this after victories.
Has he been cup tied tho? There was some discussion last night about him only being cup tied if he played in the next round. Also is he cup tied from CL due to his participation last night?
