For us to progress as a club we have to attract new fans - I dont like the idea of 'plastics' who only follow successful clubs coming to QPR but it has to happen im afraid.
I just hope we retain our atmosphere, as the worst result would be temporary plastics fans not knowing the clubs tradition/songs etc..

Dunno what it is with me. I'm not the chuck me dummy out the pram type on anything else. But when it comes to Rangers losing I sulk worse than Taarabt!!
I'm exactly the same won't even watch match of the day. When we went 2-0 to Liverpool last year I turned the radio. off didn't bother checking the score. My mate who's a spurs fan called me about something and said by the way qpr are doing well, to which I replied, stick it up your a**e. I couldn't believe it was 3-2 to us. My heart and head was all over the place. I think that was the game that defined our season and kept us up...
I am exactly the same when we lose - it hits me very hard and I moan about everything! But a win makes work the next day and the whole week great!
One of the things I liked about the championship was the fact that at most you'd have to wait a week, a lot of the time only 2-3 days. Now, if there's a crappy England friendly and you lose 2 on the spin, it could be up to a month before we win, and the family are allowed within 10 ft of you... ;-)
Relieved the OP is about how daft that mentality is. Welcome all new fans with open arms, especially those that spend their hard earned dosh on QPR because that means more revenue for the club which means happy directors which leads to more investment in better players which then generates more success, fans, revenue etc. Simples!
Have had the same seat in R Block for 9 years this year and have been surrounded by 20/30 loyal fans who have been there week in week out through the whole period. I have stood with my brothers in Rs almost alone when everyone else has gone home because defeat was inevitable.
If I want to sing Where were you when ......,, I will because I and my Rs mates were there. I rejoice in the way we are moving on but when the dark times return ( and they will) I am mr Rs loyalists will still be in Block R, Rows J, K, L and M when the gold diggers have disappeared.

I was there when we were ****, week in, week out, home and away, rain or shine. Now that we're on the up, I make only 7 or 8 games a year. Family and work reasons. I don't begrudge it, there just aren't enough days in the week.
i am not going to pretend that i was at evry game week in week out. but i tried to get to every game i could. even when we were in division 3. At the moment most of are games are shown on sky over here but it does mean a few 3 in the morning games. which made me laugh when we turned up to see city on the last day to find the pub half full with city fans. but when we played them at loftus road there were no city fans in the pub what so ever.
Great thread. IMO its all about being true to yourself. I know I've been following the R's through the very bad times, I know I've put money in the buckets to buy players, I know I've gone to the far ends of nowhere and seen us beaten by teams who really shouldn't of beaten us.

First and foremost I'm a football fan, qpr just happen to be the club I support, and who my family support. I was born around the corner and was taken to my 1st game at 6 months old. My uncle is also the head of player security, but I feel no more special or deserving that any other fan. And I would much rather go over the the Park, put 2 jumpers down as goalposts and have a kickabout than watch any team or game. It's a passion for football itself that's in my blood, not a team....
