Brazil winning 3-0, with two goals from Damaio, so they decide to rest a couple of players and bring on Hulk and Pato.
Levy, chuck another £3m onto the opening offer, then come up with so many add-ons that Internacional won't notice that half of them can't be fulfilled. For example, promise an additional £20m if Leandro is the first man to walk on Mars.
Two Olympic medal winners, though probably not in the order that everyone was expecting. Dos Santos missed the final due to an apparently minor injury and Sandro was withdrawn (wrongly, in my opinion) as Brazil chased the game. Congratulations to them both on their medals anyway, though I'm sure they'll both feel a little underwhelmed about them.
I thought the Brazilians were arrogant and their sense of entitlement got a good kick up the arse. I took great plesure in watching Raphael make a tit of himself....and I think his team mate and gaffer will agree with me.
Spurs are now joint 43rd in the medal table! Countries that are below us include... Argentina Belgium Egypt Finland Greece India Portugal Qatar Saudi Arabia Serbia Thailand Venezuela
I'm so superstitious I believe that watching a Spurs player, any Spurs player, win a gold medal will make it likelier I'll see other Spurs players win things this year. I keep wondering how it is that Gio isn't good enough even to sub for Spurs while he keeps filling up Mexico's trophy case. (Even though, from a rational POV, I understand. He can't use his right foot, and his game consists of speeding around and firing the ball towards the net the first chance he gets. Not the sort of thing to please coaches or teammates. On the other hand, it works.) Am I the only one who enjoyed Oscar missing a completely unmarked tying header off a perfect centering pass at point blank range in the closing minutes? I'm hoping it will ruin his confidence for as long as he remains at Chelsi...
