Which Stand?

Rural Norfolk
I'm a Hully-Gully, having left for Norfolk 15 years ago.
I'm in Hull on the week-end of the Palace match and plan to buy tickets.
It's my first time at the KC and I'm wondering:
Where to get seats - East or West?

Advice will be welcomed, as I'm phoning in tomorrow morning to buy a coupla tickets.
 
depends on what you want from your first kc match?

West stand - sat down nice and quiet with the odd applaud.
East stand - sat or stood with a fair bit of singing and getting behind the team.
 
All depends what you're after.

If you want atmosphere and a bit of a sing it's the East stand.Saying that the last time I went in East stand I nearly started scrapping with some gob ****e chav.That was in E1 so if you do go in the East stand you might be better off near the half way line although I'm not sure what block that would be.

I sit in the West stand and it can't half be quiet.

Enjoy the game mate and I'm sure you'll enjoy the ground.

Where abouts in NorfolK are you ? My other half is from just outside of Norwich.
 
East stand definetely. E1-E3 for the singingE4 onwards for cheering
 
Jimbo's got it spot on...West Stand lower and upper is full of your Kirkella, Swanland types ...'Oh I say awfully good pass fine chap.' East Stand caters a lot more for your everyday Hull bloke. 'Come on City get stuck in....'Break a few legs' mob. South Stand a mixture of the two. East Stand best for atmposhere and banter....West Stand best for prawn sandwiches and tea flasks.
East Stand tends to be full, whereas there are always a number of spare seats in West Stand upper. Only problem with West Stand upper is getting to your seat. Its very high at the top. Might be a decent crowd if we need to win for play-offs so get tickets for this one.

I sit in the West Stand.
I live in North Ferriby.
I was brought up on Bransholme,
I have never called anyone a 'fine chap' at a City game, or ever for that matter.
The West Stand has a number of boring twats-fact.
The East Stand has a number of chavved up silly ****s-fact.

At the end of the day we all suppport City, just in different ways.Most of my mates are in the East Stand and give it large about me sitting in the West Stand so I'm used to being ragged for that.

Like I have already stated the last time I went in E1 ( with my son)some bell end nearly copped a right hander for basically being an abolute pissed up tool.

So yes the East Stand has more atmosphere but IMO has a larger percentage of gobby ,clueless pricks.

I actually pass through Swaffham en route to the out laws.They live in a place called Watton.

I know Norfolf people get a rum deal with all the inbred , six finger jibes but I love going down there.

Norwich is a really nice city as well.

My sister in law lives in Dereham.We could stsrt the Norfolf branch of the Hull City supporters club but I'm not from Norfolk.Neither is Jimbo.I've been to the battle cruiser this arvo and I'm talking out of my arse.

There is alot more city supporters in east dereham then you think, so it might be a good idea. To be honest i cant stand the place and i look forward to seeing the bridge every weekend.
 
Snap...I was brought up on Bransholme....The Garths...Good times.....I sat in upper West for approx 4 seasons. Maybe the Swan/Kirk mob were just around me then. Yes the East Stand does have its fair share of herberts, piss heads and ner-do-wells, though I sit amongst lets say the more mature nutter.

Why do Hull fans insist on taking the mickey of people who want to enjoy their football by sitting down?

I love a sing song, however it is far cheaper for me to sit in the west stand with my father. But it is the fault of others who can't stand all game or don't feel like they have to, just cause people who live in Swanland and Kirk Ella have done better than others does not mean they do not have the same right as you to watch football.
 
I sit in the West Stand and it can be sedate but when the team play well the fans get behind the team. Unlike the majority of twa&ts in the NE corner who spend all game posturing at the away fans, even when there aren't any. If they see more than 25% of the game I would be surprised. Rest of East Stand and south stand are a safe bet though.
