It's been a while but I found myself passing by and thought I'd drop in. I might be tempted to stay a while. I thought to myself 'bound to have changed a bit around here' but, apart from the peeling wallpaper and rather strong smell of urine, much remains the same. Good to see to the same old buggers still around but not quite so good to note that our whinges at the start of this season seem very similar to those we had at the beginning of last! Seems our beloved club doesn't learn very quickly but I have retained my spot in the lower SBR stand again (glutton for punishment) and, as usual, really looking forward to the pre-match beer at the Curve (well the beer's actually crap but the views are fantastic ), the laughs, the company of my old muckers and, hopefully, some quality football on top. Anyway, hello to all or any that may remember me. PS: JWM are you still using those contacts of yours to predict the new signings / ins and outs? Cheers all
I think it's rather unkind to refer to ciderman that way rushmere. Stick around, next week the peeling paint will be replaced with a shiny new look for the Town not606 page!
Good to hear from you Rushmere! Please stick around, as hampy has stated the peeling paint will soon be gone! cleggy is on the case!
Welcome back Rushmere! One of my contacts told me that you would be dropping by again! We may need you to deliver more flowers at some point!
Good to see you Rushy. You're not thinking of sending lilies to Clegg as some kind of creepy message are you JWM? What next, a horse head on his pillow?????
I do remember JWM, I just thought you might be trying to get Rushmere to deliver a cryptic message to Cleggy on our behalf.
Always optimistic at the start of the season mate but been around too long now not to expect it to be too long before frustration sets in. Actually, I don't think we have a bad team but not a great squad. Not relegation material but can't see us making the play-offs either - guess that meets middleish ! Blackburn will be a great benchmark and a match that might well set the tone for the rest of the season me thinks....... I haven't gone through all the posts I've missed but what is the general view? Doom and gloom, optimism or that overly used middle table mediocrity phrase that I have so cunningly avoided? Thing is with the Town, you always get what it says on the tin but the tins are piled high under a tarpaulin in a dark corner so you haven't a bloody clue.
He returns like a phoenix from the ashes... Hope all's well mate? I think most of us would take mid-table now. Top ten would be nice but we know where optimism gets us. A centre-back and another striker added to the squad would improve the obvious holes. I'd like Boyd from Posh too but beggars can't be choosers.
