Last night i was bored and started going through all the championship sides on the old 606 forum when i came across this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A83674001 They seem to have a certain Daniel Ayala in their "Realistic squad for next season" all be it on loan. It got me thinking what do you think the chances of him coming to us are (especially after his embrace with NP at pride park in Febuary) and should we go for him with Hobbs and Gerrard also on the radar. Thoughts
Interesting, as I think Ayala, Hobbs and Gerrard have all been quality this year. You have to consider that Gerrard and Ayala aren't going to join to sit on the bench. Ayala would only come on loan, so would we then get Gerrard and Hobbs as well? I'd personally try for Gerrard and Hobbs on permanents and forget about Ayala. There's no point having him for a year and not getting JH, as the latter would probably go elsewhere and in a year we'd be left without a CB and with no available options. If we got all three, who would drop out of the team to the bench? What of Chester (unless Koren goes and he moves into midfield alongside Evans)?
Two out of the three would be fine by me.Gerrard my number one choice and either or would be a step in the right direction. I'm not that sure Ayala would get anywhere near the Liverpool first team at the moment, they appear to have quite a few other youngsters coming through at the back so he could well be on his way. Signing all three( highly unlikely) would definately cause a selection headache though. UTT.
Rosenior --- Gerrard --- Hobbs --- New LB I'd be ecstatic if this was the back four, with Chester in a DM role.
My thoughts exactly but would we get Ayala on a perm. as you say he aint going to get near the Liverpooooool Squad. Could Chester be our left back next year. if so that could give us: GK= ? LB=Chester, Dawson CB=Gerrard, Hobbs CB=Ayala, Cooper RB=Rosy, That gives us good options as Chester can cover anywere across the back and midfield. Would be nice but would Ayala or Hobbs be happy on the bench?
I just hope Cooper's epic failings at Carlisle don't knock his confidence, as he could go on to be a really quality player.
It was only the second part, when he returned from injury that he had a mare in one game (red card included) and then subsequently got dropped. When he went there to start off with, think he had had 4 really good games next to michalik where the carlisle fans were bigging him up. In his first set of games he scored 1 goal, the games were Carlisle 4 - Bristol Rovers 0, Carlisle 4 Huddersfield 0, Notts County 0 - Carlisle 1, Carlisle 2- Oldham 2, Huddersfield 2 Carlisle 0. The second set of games Carlisle 1 Hartlepool 0, Then it was the Peterborough 6- Carlisle 0 when he got 2 yellows and sent off. He then played when they beat Bournemouth 1- 0 and was subsequently out of the team, when he wasnt included in JPT final he decided to come back.
