Yeah I know, he is welsh nothing can stop that, But wish he could have been English as we never get amazing Left Footed Midfielders.
But Giggs he was actually eligible to play for England but chose to play for Wales as he thought he wouldn't get in the England team.

He wasn't eligible. He was born in Wales, to Welsh parents with Welsh grandparents. He was absolutely ineligible to play for England. The whole "he chose Wales over England" thing is a myth.
 
Giggs played a youth level for England, yes. But that was England schoolboys - he went to an Enlgish school. He wasn't wligible to play for Engalnd through his family, but like I said, he could get English citizenship and play that way.

No he couldn't - the home nations eligibilty agreement precluded it. He could never get "English citizenship" cos there is no such thing. As a UK born citizen under the eligibility agreement he could only play for the country of his birth (Wales), the country of the birth of either of his parents (Wales) or the country of birth of any of his grandparents (also Wales). The rules were different for non UK players cos they can get a UK passport and then choose which of the home nations to play for.

However, he could have chosen to play for England had he been about to start his career now - the change to the eligibility rules in 2009 means that you can play for a country if you have at least five years of primary schooling in that country. That rule was introduced in part to support children who migrate early in their lives and thus develop a stronger bond with their new country. But that rule has only existed for the last two years.
