I've been scrolling around various forums to research the opinion of football fans on Neil Warnock's transfer records at their clubs. The overall opinion appears to be that he moves on players with ability and brings in lots of low class hopefuls.
Having spoken to a few QPR fans, they told me that whilst they liked the man, they never thought he understood what type of player was needed for certain games and that his transfer record was poor.
A familiar theme throughout his management career and whilst he has shown that he can get teams out of the Championship, I worry that with Leeds United he has met a difficult group of supporters, who want success and they want it NOW.

Perhaps, but with all due respect to the other teams, they were not Leeds United and didn't have the history (good and bad) that we have. Managing Leeds United is not the same as managing Notts County, Plymouth, QPR etc.

Yes, point taken, but he knows what players it takes to get teams promoted is my point, he has a very good record so we need to get behind him and if he fails we can say we were to big a club for him, and if he succeeds <cheers><cheers><cheers>
 
I don't think he should be judged on signings, it is the team you create. How often do you see a team of players that click together and perform week in and week out yet individually or in another team those players seem piss poor.

This is my hope for the season ahead, despite me feeling that we are making some poor signings I hope they are players who work well as a team.

Funny enough, just this morning I was thinking back to Warnocks statement shortly after signing Pearce, that he expected 3-4 players in before he left for holiday.

I wondered how many of the players signed so far were Warnocks first choice and how many were brought in because of the situation we find ourselves in?
 
Warnock has done his business in the transfer market without having loads of cash to use. he's wheeled and dealed to get the sort of players who will do what he wants them to do in certain areas of the park. He's been the most succesful manager to win promotions and knows what he wants.

Another question has to be; if he had the money at these other clubs would he have bought the same players? I suspect not all of them. We also saw him winning promotion at QPR and the club was sold at the same time, making it near impossible for him to bring in new players until the season was almost starting. He was then left with cash and not much available players so had a 'supermarket sweep' and brought in a load of disperate characters within a week. Never had chance to work with them much and the team didn't jell in time for kick off. But he would have done better than Hughes if left in charge.

Lets give the bloke a chance and stop trying to belittle him, until he deserves it. None of us know what its like to manage a club, but yet we all have our opinions and mine is that I'll kick him if he doesn't improve our performances. I'm hoping for a great season and just like everyone on here hoping for the best. Give the bloke a chance to either sink or swim ffs
