hooper is such an interesting shout. i've never quite been convinced that he could do it in the top flight but its bound to happen sometime soon what with all the nonsense going on up in scotland. he is a good poacher which is not really something we have but he lacks that killer pace that vaughan and jackson have. not sure about him, i'm really not! i'd probably accept that deal though
In all seriousness I'd love to get him, but I'm aware of the obsacles you speak of. I'm not sure he'd go before January or next year. I always refer to him as "Connor Wickham, but talented"
rhodes may well leave in january - much will depend on how he gets on in the championship - but he won't be joining us this summer, thats for sure!
The Rhodes thing is just a reaction to Huddersfield's rumoured interest in Vaughan. Can't see him moving until he's played in the championship a bit. Would be quite excited to see hopper here, understand the comments about wether he could step up but he's averaging a goal in 70% of games same as Jelavic was and he's been great in the PL.
the difference is though that jelavic is a quality player. hooper is just a finisher. the class gulf is massive between the two in terms of ability. kris boyd used to average about 30 a season and he was totally useless!
Tbh I agree that Jelavic is a far better player. Interestingly this is one reason sabremetrics don't work in football. However against the same defences he scored as well and we know our midfield will create chances so a poacher could be just what we need
How come you're so sure that we would never put a bid in for Rhodes then Supers ? Do you have a seat on the board ? Are you privvy to all City's transfer dealings ?
v Ajax: Ruddy, R. Martin, Johnson, Vaughan, Holt (c), Pilks, E. Bennett, Ward, Tierney, Howson, R. Bennett Snodgrass on the bench
As you and I have said on Twitter, what possible benefit is it to us, to play a player who is leaving? It doesn't make sense!
Another twist maybe? Chris Goreham asked Hughton about Vaughan after the game, and he refused to be drawn on it.
good sparks from him tonight, plays on that shoulder and is surprisingly strong as well as quick. He was the sponsors motm
He did play well tonight. Was at the wrong end to see plik's freekick properly but I hear it was good. Highlight of the evening though was picking up a new away shirt.
Hughton has rubbished the idea of Vaughan going to Celtic. http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...orwich_city_s_premier_league_opener_1_1466537
