Do you mean the clause said something like: "The player has a right to talk to any club who puts in an offer of £500,000 but Hull City can refuse."

I take it you think that Koren is lonely and wants somebody to talk to.

I'm reliably told that talks between #hcafc and Robert Koren continue over his future. Club are staying hopeful he'll stay.

Anybody heard anymore re. Robbo and the new contract, said to be under discussion over last weekend ?

The whole thing is getting a bit tedious now ! With only days to go to the new season.

Never mind, I still say UTT

Not necessarily, could be just getting a few little issues in the contract sorted before he signs. But if he was leaving we would have heard about it by now

Matty Fryatt was another who's future seemed in doubt, what with his family moving away from the area. Do we think he will stay now ? Certainly hope so.

I think he will stay unless a club bid decent money i.e. somewhere in the region of what we paid for Proschwitz

I would've thought so, he has indicated any desire to leave so I doubt he'll be pushed out the door. And even if we sold him, we'd be asking for a lot of money anyway.

Truth is nobody knows for sure outside of Koren and his agent .. sometimes players sign new contracts or extensions with no intention of staying - its only purpose is to facilitate a larger transfer fee for the selling club - a complicit affair - not saying that this is the case here - merely that assertions that 'we would have heard by now' are flawed - fans are more often than not the last to get to know the real facts ...

In this specific occasion if you see Koren sign a new contract, that will be an end to the matter. He is clearly happy here and would only leave for Lesta for the money. If he signs then that's it.

If a player wanted to leave his club, why on gods green turf would he/his agent make it more difficult for possible suitors by signing a new contract ?

Why ask him that, its obvious that only Koren or his agent could answer your question!!!

I ask him because it was his suggestion and seems a more than a little bit bonkers.

I think he signed a 3 year deal, so he's half way into it. I know that we paid £1.2m for him, but apparently that rises to £1.6m depending on add ons. We really need to keep him, he's one of the best goalscorers at this level.

When he isn't what? A goalscorer? Is 16 goals not a good return in your eyes? Joint 5th highest in the league last season and that's feeding off scraps up front. Frazier Campbell only managed 15 in our promotion season and he had Deano up front with him.

As your name suggests, if you saw the Premier League Tigers, then you will have seen that Geo was our top scorer in the PL, with 8. And the season after, Stephen Hunt with 6. After that, Fryatt came in half way through the season and still finished top scorer with 9 goals. We haven't exactly been blessed with goals since we went up, 4 years ago. He really needs to stay, I think a partnership with Proschwitz will be a successful one.

NB, it was a 3 and a half year deal he signed, so it expires July 2014 (as Tickler said)
