A shame he never used those 180 pages when playing Norwich,QPR,Wolves and Blackburn..<laugh>

We would have been in the europa league then :)

Makes you wonder about the guy though doesnt it, i will always be thankful for the job he did here but its a shame he decided to burn his bridges with the Jack faithful, some of the things coming out in the media since his move to Liverpool makes you wonder if he is starting to beleive his own hype <ok>

It's an interesting question .... Exactly how much is original thinking versus being plagerised or Intellectual property of the clubs he previously worked at. How much of it is common knowledge to football ownership / executives / team managers and coaches but brand spanking new to baseball people.

When exactly did he drop this into the laps of Liverpool before or after they had permission to talk to him.

Some of these questions wouldn't ordinarily be raised, but after what's gone on with respect to Allen I think they're fair to ask.

As far as I'm aware this dossier has never been mentioned (did Huw know it existed I wonder), Rodgers he likes a good talk so why would he not refer to it ,he had huge media attention last year why would he keep it a secret ,
so I wonder just how long it took him to produce ?

When he applied for the Swans he submitted pretty much the same document, he's just adapted it for Liverpool.

My question is; Had he been contacted by Liverpool before or after he arranged our pre-season trip to America?

I am a confirmed cynic and believe he had been tapped up around Christmas time. Everything that happened from January onwards then makes sense; Stalling on signing his contract, Sinclair also, failing to negotiate a buy clause in the Siggi loan, arranging to be in America as soon as the season finished, on more than one occasion he compared our league position to Liverpool's in the media (quoting how much money Kenny had spent....putting pressure on him).

My view on Rodgers is that he was able and especially good at winning over the players and getting them to follow him. He is certainly ambitious and his rise could be textbook 'how to get to the top ASAP'......but now we will get to see how good he really is, staying at the top is what the best people are able to do.
    Will be very interesting.

Im unsure of that KJ, if Rodgers gets off to a good start then i can see him having the fans on his side and building up momentum, what ever people now think of him he is good at keeping the squad motivated and focused on the task ahead.
If he struggles in the early months the Liverpool fans that are not 100% convinced by his appointment will start to grumble and this may lead to him losing the faith of the supporters then players.

Many think he will fail, but if we look at Liverpool last season they were desperatly unlucky in many of their games, a confident manager might make all the difference to them.
Steven Gerrard beleives they will finish top 4 !! i dont know if he is trying to help Rodgers or Hinder him with that statement !!
It will be very intresting to see how he goes up there, im just praying Micheal Laudrup can get us firing early on and keep our players happy and confident <ok>

Rodgers has got 2 seasons come rain or shine or what the fans say. I'd go as far as to guess such assurances may even be in his contract. he's not stupid and he will of known the risks and will probably took action to minimise them.

......<laugh> oops, forgot about gower the power Ash, my mistake !!

Terrorwit, i love the way your thinking on this, i have a feeling though that his focus was placed firmly on the Spurs job, in fact i can out do your conspiracy theory here!!
Rodgers was told the spurs job was his when Harry got the England job, hence after January there was a major love-in between redknapp and brenden in the media and not long after that brenden started dipping questions and being a little bit vague, he certainly started distancing himself from us and the fans. When the England Job went to Hodgson, Daniel Levy still wanted rodgers but then had to get harry out the door, i beleive rodgers was told the spurs job would still be his but instead of waiting for redknapp to finally get the chop he flapped and agreed to the Liverpool job instead.

This then totally pissed of Daniel Levy, who was too far down the road to do a u-turn with redknapp and was left with another manager to find, step in AVB! as a way of getting his own back on rodgers Spurs came in and give brenden a dose of his own medicine by taking gylfi from under liverpools nose..lets be honest,we were all suprised by that one.

I also think Spurs will offer Joe mega money to sign for them instead of Liverpool, and Spurs will do it as f$ck you to rodgers for leaving them high and dry after already telling him he was lined up for the job.

Intresting theory even if i do say so myself..<laugh> it also stands up when you consider Huw Jenkins started looking for a new manager in March !! lots went on behind the scences if you ask me, there was something too sweet with redknapp and rodgers, i think both men thought they knew their next job and the English FA blew it all apart, brenden then thought he missed his big chance and snatched at the Liverpool job when it came up, pissing off spurs who were ready to appoint him regardless .

NJ ... love this theory, it's almost crazy enough to be true, and since life is usually crazier than fiction I wouldn't be at all surprised if you're close to the truth. <laugh>

When you factor in the coyness over getting Caulker back on loan, it adds more smoke. If BR went to Spurs then Caulker was going to be pretty certain of being in the first team squad if not close to starting especially after King retired.

Yankee- I beleive this to be not far off the mark myself..<laugh>
something went amiss towards the tail end of the season, results also dipped. Huw stated he was looking for a new guy before the season ended so somebody somewhere is telling lies!! there is no way we can ever know of what goes on behind the scenes at football clubs, but there is always a little bit of smoke!!

Ive been told some real unprintable stuff about the swans over the years, some true, some not so true and some of the truth really was stranger than fiction! ...<laugh>
