Chris Coleman is going to ask Ramsey's thoughts on Shawx being involved in the Wales set up?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18786041

I find it hard to believe that Ramsey should have a say in the squad selection and I am suprised that the incident is still rumbling on! Its not like it was Keane tackle where he admitted that he tried to break someones leg! Its a very sad state of affairs!

  2. Ramsey is put on the spot here really. Now it is in the media IMO he has to show he can move on. Will he though? IF Ramsey says 'Yes,' it will be interesting to see what the response is.

You are 'surprised' that this incident rumbles on? I am not given neither he nor his club have accepted any apology from Ryan or SCFC.The media does not help and their supporters have not helped with barracking Ryan before the game at the Brit last season. They went further during the game and stirred the Stoke faithful into giving the team more vocal support. When Ramsey came off it was wrong that some Stoke supporters booed Ramsey. I said on my blog of the season that we should not lower ourselves to the same level of those North Londoners ?????????????

My comment on that is under the name of 'Finchampstead,' as we have mmoved 75 miles closer to Staffordshire!

You won't have to cover quite so many miles per round trip to the Britannia this coming season then.

  4. It is simply 158.9 miles each way. A walk in the park as they say. Good thing is that 4 of us will travel up and possibly 5 back so we manage to share the cost and have a good chin wag on the way back!

    Cheers

    Unbelievable..
This matter with Ramsey will run for yrs .. and it will be the Arsenal fans that fuel the stokies
THe only problem then is ... Stoke fans give it back with bells on and then Arsenal fans come out and mardarse

For me, this Ryan and Ramsey thing is done to death?
I HOPE that ZERO Stoke fans leave Aaron Ramsey alone during our FIRST home game this season. IF the Arsenal fans can't/Won't/Will not or refuse to FORGET what happened then TOUGH! The lad is playing well, fully recovered thank God and it SHOULD be left alone now IMHO.

No doubt the Gunners fans will bring it up again, I say just leave it and see it this way.
It's their problem NOT ours guys!
IF they want to jeer Ryan, so effin what.

As for Ryan being condidered for Wales? Fair enough but WHY Aaron should be asked for his oppinion I don't know. I HOPE he(Ryan) would eventually play for England, maybe the Olympics Squad but nope, it's not to be. That's their loss not ours.

Sorry lads I dont agree, I think Shawcross is a very good player but I dont think he is good enough to be an England international. I also think its a joke that if a player cant get into one international team he goes into his past and finds that he read a book in Wales and now can play for them. To play for your country you should be proud and so to just switch Nationality willy nilly is an absolute joke and this is one of the reasons that the international scene is fast becoming pointless.

I hear what u sayin ricc but really who r the CH s in front of Ryan ?
He is a defender that does his job without frills and a top job at that !
He is the CH that is no nonsense and keeps his clean sheet best he can ....
England r cryin out for this kind of player ... his experience is gettin better and the ones in pole position now r gettin older !!!

The ONLY young player I would put before Ryan currently is (Cahill). When he didn't make the European's I really thought Ryan had a chance of a call up.
Terry? almost past it. WHY Shawcross would even think of playing for Wales really is a joke IMO.
He's still young, still learning so we'll see what eventually happens. TRUE enough, had Ryan played for one of the so called (bigger clubs) he would have got his chance a while back.

I find it straing that.. right after Aaron Ramsey broke his leg, Ryan was called up and spent all that time on the bench, if I remember. He only trained with the senior player's. WHY has he not been considered since then? Just wondering is all.

I personally think that Cahill, Lescott and Smalling have a lot more to offer internationally than Shawcross. Dont get me wrong Shawcross is a very good defender but you also need composure on the ball and consistency, also not pulling and grabbing in the box helps a lot too of which he must be the worst in the Prem. A few years ago I had high hopes for him too but he seems to have levelled out and with Pulis as his manager he isnt going to learn any other aspect of defending other than man marking which is a shame. In another managers hands he would have had a good chance of playing for England but I cant see it happening for him now as I think he was worse last season than the season before. Im still very proud to have him at the heart of our defence at Stoke

Its purely the way TP sets the team out to play and the sustained pressure that our defence comes under because of our inability to retain the ball! It just highlights all our negatives and none of our positives.

Yes every other team do do it im not denying that, but Shawcross does it more blatant and more frequent than any other defender in the prem. He is a good defender but if he was in the England first 11 I would personally think we had quite a weak defense for international football. I personally think that Huth is a better defender than Shawcross. I dont get lead by what papers say these are my opinions. Just because im a Stoke fan doesnt mean that I have to think that our players should be in the international squad, im honest and say what I think about Stoke whether it is good or bad.

Anyway on a lighter note I just wanted to mention how well the women are playing in the Olympics football and give a shout out to Bradeley wiggins and the two women rowers who won gold today. Absolutely brilliant performances!!!!

Here we go again. This is really getting annoying. Coleman is embarrassing himself. It's embarrassing enough he's asking Ramsey this, but to spread it all over the papers.... Sorry guys for bringing this up but this really has pissed me off. Plus hasn't Ryan already said at least twice that he doesn't want to play for Wales?

Wales boss Chris Coleman admits "there is an issue" over bringing Ryan Shawcross into the national squad, despite positive talks with captain Aaron Ramsey.

The Arsenal midfielder broke his leg in six places after a challenge by Shawcross in February 2010, and Ramsey ignored the defender's initial attempts to apologise.

Coleman has spoken to Ramsey about the possibility of Shawcross playing for Wales, and he said: "I had a conversation with Aaron when I was in Cardiff and it was very positive, but there is an issue there. The point is to play football and be successful, you don't have to be best mates."

Coleman has openly admitted his interest in recruiting Stoke defender Shawcross to represent Wales. The 24-year-old was born in Chester but is believed to qualify for Wales having spent five years of compulsory education in the principality.

Shawcross has always insisted he wants to represent England, but he has fallen out of contention over the last 18 months.

Coleman will consult Stoke manager Tony Pulis about approaching Shawcross.

"We haven't decided anything, I still haven't spoken to Ryan or Tony yet but I will do," he said.

"If it's going to make us better then I will do it. I've got to be respectful of Tony. We've got Bosnia this week so it won't be before then, but I will after that."
