Lawrence will be gone within days I reckon.

Ben Haim will come to an agreement - Admin Andy is advising him and says they are almost there.

I'm betting Kanu will settle as soon as Birch changes his tone with him.

That just leaves Kitson - who apparently isn't going to be easy. I think we should make him play next season if he's determined to stay.

I hope all 4 somehow get sorted and I don't have a bad word for any of them tbh - they are in a difficult position and between all the statements and counter statements somewhere lies the truth - I guess nobody can accuse us of squirelling players or money away - and Harry's old bare bones adage is now worth using - Lawrence will get picked up he is a good player and Kitson just needs to go somewhere and get a fresh start - he'll score goals be loved by the fans and get on ok - just never really happened for him here - Ben Haim is a solid defender and with a sensible wage demand he too will get signed by someone - King K though is really at the coaching stage of life and it's a shame that something can't be worked out with him - I'm still clinging to the hope we start the season and have some semblance of a side - no question if we do manage too it will a long hard slog and we must all accept that we are building from ground zero which is actually a really exciting prospect. PUP

That's exactly how I feel Eastney. If we could just hang on and watch a new team run out at season's start, it will almost be as though we have this phoenix club, with out the rising from the ashes bit.

Anything that team (whoever they may be) achieves, will be greeted with raucous support by all.

I remember reading ages ago (in the News) that Kanu was given a 3 year contract that included a coaching role after a year or two - but it never happened or maybe someone made that up.

Perhaps Kitson really should never have left Reading.

No you can't.

Which means maybe you could sign a couple of players soon.

But only after the rest have gone.

I wonder if you can get around that by offering 'pay as you play' deals while the new squad ids being built. Otherwise I just don't see how we can put out a team against Plymouth in the League Cup on 14th August, let alone Bournemouth in the opening League fixture 4 days later!

I don't for one moment believe that any of the players would let themselves be responsible for allowing the club to be liquidated - but I've always felt that I understand where they're coming from. High wages or not, they have also been badly let down.

There's an unsubstantiated rumour that Kitson is talking to Crawley. Note.... unsubstantiated!

But anyway Devo, Appy has got his players set up already. Izzy McLeod has already said that he's signed a pre-contract agreement. So that's 1 - just a whole team to go <ok>
