Just thought I would create a post for people to add their thoughts on the ongoing Olympic football matches, the gossip or just to talk about players that would grace our Lillywhite shirts!
Abdul Rahman (sp?) is a quality passer of the ball. Would be a nice addition by the looks of it... (based entirely on 5mins of watching)
They're playing well aren't they? I was looking at the groups earlier and thought it would be very predictable but Japan and UAE have had excellent games(touch wood for UAE). Pleased to see Mark Bright getting a role at the Olympics, it must have been heartbreaking for him when he realised talking **** and backpeddling isn't an Olympic sport.
I meant in general but early on he was talking about a tackle from UAE being studs up then upon seeing the replay blaming it on his trailing leg being dangerous and then after the second replay accepting that it was a decent block. It was on Coates I think.
Omar Abdulrahman, the guy with the 'fro that puts Hudds' to shame. Gaston Ramirez looks pretty sharp - and as Loserpool are too busy reneging on their agreement not to poach Swansea players, we could make a move for him. You can tell it's the Theatre of Schemes - the only crowd noise is booing Suarez when he gets the ball. So far he dived for the equalizing free kick, and is probably itching to racially abuse somebody...
Think that just about sums it up! How refreshing would it be to have someone who could take free kicks (in ramirez). The last three I can think of that we have scored are: Walker Pav (in Europe) Jenas vs utd (was on the spurs website for about a year, but still had to have a watch every visit)
As long as Bale and VDV practice set pieces in training, we'll be better off. We were linked to Ramirez a few months ago, when Harry was still around - and we've cropped up again as potential suitors now he's in London. Kensuke Nagai was getting rave reviews for his performance against Spain - although most of them pronounced his name "Kensook" when it's actually pronounced "Kenskay"...
Oh Savage and Hansen can **** right off. Lineker(who wasn't exactly helpful) read a single line from the Spurs statement(leaving out the BOA guy's one) and all Hansen replied was "why? Why is that unjustified criticism of him?". Read the ****ing statement, he was injured when the squad was picked and recovered ahead of schedule and it was the GB medical team that ruled him out not the club or Gareth. Why are pundits allowed to get away with such ignorance when they're supposed to doing the opposite by providing insight? Matt Holland and the rest might be **** but at least they get paid a lot less to be ****.
Stupid Man Utd fans booing Bellamy before he scored. If you don't want to support him, then don't go and watch him play. The midfield's doing ok, the defence looks decent if unfamiliar, though that's to be expected, but Sturridge is too isolated. I'm not sure that the central trio of Allen, Giggs and Cleverly offers enough versatility, though it's clear that they're all very good passers of the ball. Might be better off with someone playing closer to the frontman. Ramsey, perhaps? Taylor's a good full-back, but I still think it'd be better to play Richards out there and put a proper centre-half alongside Caulker.
