I'd say that Bates has told the potential investors that he can no longer wait for them to undertake the full due diligence and he needs to run the club with the intention of being ready for the season, and give the manager the wherewithall to go forward. So, he has taken back control to buy and sell players and offer contracts, and it is up to the investors to agree the sale. Plenty of time.
Morning Elmo, you are so close with your observation. The info I was given last nite is Colin has pushed the transfers, and wants Snods money to clinch his final signings. So far so good, but of course we will see how much Bates gives him. Also told Maynard high on Colin's list and could be had for not a lot as Hammers have a shiny new Prem credit card so want him off their books asap. Maynard signing will move Ross on as well, not certain to be Hudders as Saints mentioned where he will be backup. Investors still lining up books and accounts, Bates is still king....for now.
Sorry total bollocks - Read Warnocks comments on the official site: Add to that the asset value of Snoddy was set at £750K that isn't enough to replace him.
What Warnock tells us via the official site and what he really wants and thinks are two completely different things, and it is just so naive to think otherwise. Don't understand what you mean by this £750k asset value stuff. If Snods was valued in the books as £750k and we just got £2m+ for him, we have made a very healthy profit margin.
http://www.arabianbusiness.com/bahrain-s-leeds-utd-takeover-likely-in-2-weeks-report-467428.html Here guys have a read of this and make your own asumptions, but once a Arab has put his name against something they usually follow it through
Erm, if I may. I sold Snoddy because a) he wanted to go and b) we need cash fast to do what we need to do in pre-season. His asset value of £750k is a rather nice sweetener for me though, as I get to trouser the £2.75 million we got for him and then only reduce the sale price of the club by £750k. Leaving me £2M up and you morons a captain down. Have you not been paying attention for the last 7 years? This really is standard procedure by now.
We have got a reported £3m for Snoddy not bad for someone who cost £35k this along with the £1.5m we will recieve for Rossshould give us enough funds to get 4 quality players in Cox /Maynard Hamill Peltier ande a CB
We'll never see the full £3m. We're only getting £1.5m up front and that won't all go to the team. We won't even be able to replace Snoddy with someone even approaching as good let alone add other players on top.
Money is probably already nestling nicely in Uncle Kens off-shore account.....wonder if the taxman knows!
Read the quote from the guy from LUST and the link posted by Bucks... New owners wanted Snoddy to stay, his asset value was set for takeover purposes at £750K - Harvey sanctioned the sale, meaning his asset value has to be put back and anything over that wasn't included in the sale so Bates gets to keep it.
If "new" owners wanted to keep Snods they would have offered him more to stay than Norwich did. Problem is there are no new owners...yet...so Bates cracks on and does what's good for Bates. He has stalled the investors for as long as he can, we're into the business end of pre-season and if they want a return by getting to the Prem this season they need to cough up what Bates wants quickly now. Call Bates what you want, but he knows how to build pressure in a negotiation.
Arab news report not news, and no investor's name put to the story. Funny how they quote "potential investor" and don't say "buyer".
