I'm not suggesting they move that far out (even though it would be a lot closer to me) but i know a good few years ago they were looking at building a Warner Bros theme park in Uxbridge (i think where the cricket ground and dry ski slope are). It did always seem weird at the time that they spent millions of pounds on a brand new Underground station at Hillingdon that was basiclly in the middle of nowhere. It was always touted that the road and rail/underground links would be good but can't remember why the plans got shelved.
Could this of been looked at ??

Why is the BBC site out of the picture?

I don't think it is mate. Even the diary site is not out yet. I reckon lots of people with money are making statements to earn a few bob.
Our board would never have said we were staying in w12 unless something was sorted. Even if TF sometimes gets carried away with the media, the mittals/amit would have already had this sorted.
Just have to wait and see but i think they have a site and plans are being drawn up.

Don't think they have said we will stay in W12 Ellers. I have heard West London and Central London mentioned consistently though. Obviously W12 would be perfect from all perspectives, so here's hoping......

Okay FFS i thought i read 'W12' it may have said west London.

    However
My point is, that we need to stay as close to W12 as possible. None of that old talk about M4/M40/Heatrow rubbish because if we go out there we might as well build a stadium in the middle of the Sahara desert. We are a London club and must stay one at all costs.
Saying that, i trust the board not to be stupid and any decent business person knows that London generates more than some place in the sticks (in terms of profile and money).

Yep, it was me mate. However, although the Unigate site might be a non-starter the old White City Stadium site still might be a goer. It was announced last week that the BBC and BBC Worldwide are to vacate the offices which now stand there by 2014.

I think what's being alluded to here is the BBC Television Centre site. The problem with this particular site being that a large part of it is listed (i.e. the whole facade and TV Centre "doughnut"), leaving only a smaller plot of land for possible redevelopment. Whether or not this would leave space for a new stadium is probably doubtful (though not impossible). However, as mentioned, the BBC site slightly further up Wood Lane (at the junction with South Africa Road) at White City offers an ideal location for a new stadium. If I've got my history right it's even a site at which QPR have formerly spent spells playing at (2 games in 1912, 1927-33 and half a season in 1962), not to mention hosting the 1908 Olympics.

Interesting that we all seem in favour now - wasn't like that 18 months ago!
