"Eight games ago, i was the best thing since sliced bread- in some peoples eyes-and within eight games, some people want me out".

"i can understand where they are coming from- i can't quite believe it, but there you go".

"there will be certain people who didn't want me here in the first place, and i can understand that aswell, but that's football".

"all i can say to them i will work as best as i possibly can to turn it around".

"it is what it is, managing in the north-east. BUT I STILL DON'T REGRET IT, i am still confident i am the right man for the job".

"but make no mistake, it's difficult, I COULD QUITE EASILY STAYED AT WIGAN, where roberto martinez for example, has been in the bottom three all season, and not a hint of, "get him out"

make's you wonder if he knows something we don't....

Because there is no fans to even say that scentence, this wont do him any favours with the fans if this is his actual words

    Well ill have my say
I am a big believer that every manager should be given 3 to 5 years to make progress with maybe the first season being the most difficult. Last year he kept us up jobe done this year i was looking for around 10th to 15th that is still easily achievable if however we fall below 15th then Bruce needs to look at where he got it wrong in which in my opinion are

    1. Too many loan players who can walk away if we get relegated i.e not my club why should i care.
    2. Letting Bent go with no replacement the lad already said he was unhappy in the summer.
    3. Lack of motivation from the bench.
    4. We have lost too many points when been in the lead i.e at Wolves and Stoke.
    5. Unable to get them hyped up for the Derby games (for gods sake we were not at either game)
    6. Unforgivable cup runs they are a back door into Europe.

I am not saying i want him out but there will be a lot of eyes on his summer dealings and he needs to start next season well.
I am 56 so i am used to this lol but i would like to go to the end of the season looking at a chance of Europe.

Heard this today on the radio and thought what a twat Bruce is, he just doesn't get it does he? We are not concerned about the results bar West Brom as the 7 games before were all tough games, we are concerned at the total lack of effort and spirit in the team which saw us roll over for Liverpool and West Brom. SB needs to sort the team out and stop giving interviews which will only fan the flames a bit more, I was starting to stick up for him again but not any more the bloke has gone right downhill now.

Every manager goes through a bad patch and before you say it, I know it happened last year as well, coincidence maybe? The horrendous injury list has not helped either, can anyone remember when we had anywhere near our full squad to choose from for a run of games?
I say stick with him, he's a good manager and the players are as much to blame as Bruce, I agree we need to stop getting in too many loan players and buy some quality.

I would rather have taken Super Kev back on loan from Jan than take Muntari on loan or sign Sessesgnon. In my mind Bruce has made errors, but all managers do. We don't want to be like the barcodes up the road and change managers like they change their underpants (once a year). Bruce should have till the end of the season, he's under pressure to deliver results and he knows it. Why add to his pressure by calling for his head? I can't see it helping him to focus solely on the team if he thinks he has to worry about the fans screaming for him to lose his job as well. If at the end of the season we we 15th or below, then fine, lets debate whether he should stay or go. But the more I think about it, now is not the time.

If thats really where Steve's mind is, I worry about tomorrow and the rest of the season even more. Bramble and especially poor Campbell seem to indicate we are on a shocking run of luck. I fear that we may play a little better vs Brum but then they ll simply bring the giant on and "Huth" it up to him to him for a late goal. Hope I'm wrong.

Saw Bruce on Look North, thought he came across well don't see why people are getting on his back alright we've had a bad run but Catt, Turner and Welbeck were out and have only just come back (maybe rushed back) and need time to be fully match fit we have also played some hard games against top clubs, (west brom apart). IMO his loan signings have been good, when we stay up Elmohaamndy will sign, hopefully we can get Wellbeck,Muntari will work out and sign,THink Sess will be a good signing. As for Judas he kight have been unhappy in the Summer but was peruaded to stay so should have expected him to stay for the rest of the season and Dealt Bruce a curve ball and Bruce can't be blamed for that. IMO we'll stay up and finish the season well, then we need to see where we go from there.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Pickfords truck outside SB's house this evening. Wonder if he's at home now, packing up the family silver? :)

Pickfords will be waiting outside if we lose tomorrow...if we do lose,he must go!!Selling Bent and not bringing in a replacement goalscorer has killed us off!I'm sure if he had have gone for King Kev on loan, our hero would have walked over hot coals to sign

gyans-y-fronts......I have supported the lads for almost 50 years...I am Sunderland through and through.....I do not think that Bent should have been sold without a replacement being lined-up!And if Bruce didn't sell Bent, who did????Any how, don't call me a nob, just because you don't agree with my views. If you are a Sunderland fan, like me,we should stick together and not insult fellow Mackems!!!

Resigning Super Kev would have been a huge mistake. He has legendary status at our club, and to bring him back at this stage of his career would possibly ruin that.
To be fair on Bruce he was taken by surprise by Bent's transfer and didn't have the time to get a decent replacement.
