Happy for Mapps, i don't know anyone that isn't...just sad to see him go, he was great for us over the last couple of years, really became a first class player, and therefore, he deserves his chance in the Prem...hopefully he'll do well. No bad feelings there :)

I know we supposedly enquired about him in January.

Reading seem to be doing decent business in the Prem without paying silly money. Mariappa, Guthrie, Pogrebnyak, Shorey + Gunter so far.

Yep you did, but didn't offer enough, and we were happy to keep him til the end of the season..losing Sordell instead, which was no great loss in comparison. By this transfer window, we all knew Mapps would go, but that's okay, at least we can do business of our own now :).

Meanwhile, you're right. I think Reading have a good chance of staying up this year...

Any signs yet of what is to come at Watford? Big signings? Reserves from Italy? Same as now?

i think all the big signing rumours are just that. From what we can tell from the other clubs in the 'family'...they don't buy old, and they don't buy big or expensive...they move their players around on loan between the clubs, and do a lot of scouting in unusual places, finding real talents that otherwise would go unfound. So...for the time being, apart from one signing which is almost certainly happening, and one which is possibly happening, coupled with 3 loanees, i think that's it for now, unless i've read the system completely wrong! lol

Sounds a bit like NUFC, but without the 'feeder clubs'. Good luck for next season.
