On trial with us. What do you (Gas and Teds) think about this? His goal record doesn't set the world on fire and apparently he's got the pace of an asthmatic ant carrying heavy luggage up a particularly steep flight of stairs, but I've been told that he's pretty good on the ball and an intelligent footballer. Could do a job at L2 level, especially if played behind a front two, I reckon.
I agree. Couldn't understand why we chased Constable - almost exactly the same type of player as Harrold, except he's gone right off the boil last season, whilst Matty had a pretty good season. Clarkson yes please, Constable no thanks.
Should be a class act in the 4th tier, you should snap him up..
Many City fans on the various boards agree that he'd do a good job for us. Also still only 26 and a free agent. Got to be worth a punt.
I remember telling a young lad he'd play in goal for England one day, many years ago. I wonder what happened to him?!
I was stood right beside Clarkson When he hit that ball in that you tube clip. He shinned it, definitely. but he still got the result he was after so fair play! If you can get him fully fit and match sharp I reckon he could be a class act in div 4.
Early days so......................... Clarkson looked off the pace v WSM, but worked hard. He didn't win much in the air. Played in a 4-4-2 with Richards up front. Was brought down for the penalty from which he scored. Subbed with about 15/20 minutes left.
I'd be a bit more reserved than others. MM's no fool.....and he's not going to meet Clarkson's (agent's) financial demands unless he can see a good return in goals. Let's see how he does in the next few games. i.e......haven't got a clue!!!
The question is does his highness Lord McGhee think the pleb Clarkson is WORTHY of playing for a lowly 4th level club....?
