Pud told me that yes there would be a rivalry, but only because the clubs are in the same city. A good honest answer there. <laugh>

Like the fierce rivalry between Celtic and Partick Thistle.

So it will be just like any other Old Firm match? Albeit with more windups.

Yes it will be just like an Old Firm match but (fortunately or unfortunately) it won't be an Old Firm match.

I'm sure the media will come up with a new tag to refer to the rivalry that will be born or reborn if you like

I'm guessing they will continue to use the term Old Firm, as will everyone else.

They probably will and it will mainly be because they lack imagination.

If this new Rangers is a different entity from the club that played at Ibrox until the summer of 2012, why are the likes of CockneyRhebel and Tioga on here bumping their gums? Why are they chewing the fat with fans of this particular SFL3 club rather than, say, Elgin or Montrose?

We're still waiting on Dundee taking the place of this particular slot in the SPL teams.

Besides, this is like the party, erm I mean wake, that we promised we'd have when Rangers die <ok>

Because their hatred and jealousy towards Rangers is all consuming.

In fairness to them it must be difficult to be the second team in a 2-team-city in a 2-team-country.

Your answer makes no sense. The status of Dundee is irrelevant. You either believe Rangers died (in which case why are you here?) or you accept that the new club in SFL3 is same old Rangers. The fact that you're still swarming all over this board suggests the latter.

And just look how much Rangers features in their avatars, signatures and sometimes usernames.

They support Celtic that much they sit on here during games commenting on the game their watching on their ****ey streams.

TGFITW indeed <laugh>

Or maybe I'm bursting with excitement at the rivalry that will come to fruition in the years ahead as newco tries to establish itself as the main challenger to the number one team in Scotland, Celtic ;)

I wasn't actually 100% serious Medro! Part of the rivalry does exist due to location …

I like how you miss out the joke point I made about Thistle <doh>

You know the answer but I was doing a Medro - evading it!

If sevco are granted a SFA license and, if they can, call them Rangers FC and tack onto the oldco's history (name of the oldco), then in essence it's still the same club.

Same supporters?
Same stadium?

Then, of course, it will still be Celtic v Rangers and the rivalry will be there!

I have no issue with that ... however, if sevco get to tack on the history of Rangers then they must also take responsibility of Rangers previous misdemeanours (i.e. if EBT case is proven then the punishment should apply to Sevoc/Rangers).

Iain Black?

Seriously, is that a cause for celebration, signing a player you all seemed to detest this time last year? That would be like us pretending to be overjoyed at signing El Hadj Mooth.

We all know that answer but some Celtic fans are just struggling to admit it. Good man Pud. X

I always loved him. Always said that he was the most complete midfielder in Scotland.

I think the majority of the fans, myself included, still think he's a dirty **** with limited ability. But if he is willing to sign for us then we will accept him with open arms.
