I've just sumbled across this through the newsnow website and it speaks very promising of a Spurs youngster. Although it's a local article likely to want to push forward their local product, the accolades he has picked up sound very interesting and point towards a good talent: http://www.tringtoday.co.uk/sport/hemel-hot-shot-harry-ready-to-earn-his-spurs-1-4051385 Anyone heard of the lad? Spurcat?
Good article GDD. I have heard of him and I have read club reports on him but I've not seen him play yet. We actually have 3 players from the club in that England under 17 squad which is a positive sign that beyond the first team, we might be doing something right.
Hopefully the training facilities will help to push these lads on and with the emphasis that Levy is now putting on technqiue through appointing AVB and his high calibre coaches we may find less youngsters failing to break through!
Hi Spurcat, sorry for taking so long to reply, out of office. I don't know if you recall but I think we discussed this before on FB or the old 606 as I lived in a place called Cambourne near Cambridge having moved from Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. I still live around that area so no closer to the club, but having broken out of the education system i've been able to acquire more tickets to games and have started using a lot of resources to pick up more information regarding the club Still envy your connections though of course
Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd use this one as it's along the same lines. Looks like Barca have snatched a possible future star form under our noses, keep an eye on this one. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...094/Zak-of-the-net-for-young-Irish-Messi.html
Somebody should probably forward him this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamie_Stevenson_(footballer)
DO NOT, under any circumstances, allow yourself to get homesick. Other wise, you'll be faced with football in Scotland for years to come. That should give him permanent motivation to succeed.
His family are going with him, and half of Ireland practically live on the Spanish coast anyway. Plus communications and social media are a lot better when that Jamie lad went over, as broadband was just taking off proper back then and was hard to come by, so I don't think homesickness would be an issue. My better half works for a 5 star hotel chain and had to go to Tahiti for 6 weeks to help oversee an opening of a resort, and apart from her physical absence we spoke each day via webcam, which made it more bearable.
success at a high level in football is about so much more than raw talent as 13 year old. You have to have the desire, will power, mental capabilities and a dose of luck with injuries etc etc. I wouldn't be surprised if we never hear of that kid again. I'm not gonna cry about Spurs missing out.
Exactly spurfectionist, it's a bit of a lottery. Most youngsters scouted up have the talent and skills but it often comes down to the mentality under the pressure of a match scenario. That cannot be taught at the highest level.
For example... please log in to view this image He really does seem angrier every time I see that pic...
I dread to think what this years' squad pic would look like... :::EDIT::: Bloody hell, even more unlikely: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18864565
