Ian Black says he would be willing to play for Rangers in the Third Division. In Tuesday's Scottish Sun.

Even now, the attraction of playing for Scotland's most successful Club's just too good an opportunity to turn down.

Well said Blacky :1980_boogie_down:

Oh! how you wish that was true.

That particular honour belongs to the Rangers.

54 & Counting and 61 if we claim our titles during the War years.

You'll never catch up <laugh>

So how the **** can Ian Black play for them?

Rangers are a club awaiting liquidation. They have no league to play in, no corporate entity, no other players.

Don't need to waste a wish...its a fact

And how desperate are you....counting the war years <laugh>

Ian Black is probably the most complete midfielder in Scotland, he will be welcomed with a big hug.

Back to back to back promotions then capture the SPL.

I wonder what odds you'd get on that particularly ambitious plan, especially as it's not certain you'll even be playing next season

PS The correction made on the original statement was necessary because it's not physically possible for a new club to recapture something they can never claim to have won <ok>

Can you answer me this.

If this "new club" were to meet Celtic in say the league cup next season, would there be a rivalry? Would the media, players and fans from both clubs make a big deal about it? Or would it be treated the same as any other Scottish football match?

So in the ethos of sporting integrity, we should actually have Celtics title wins reduced to 39? That Londoner plastic paddy will be beelin'

The first world war didn't have the cancellation of official league fixtures and league duties were fulfilled by all clubs, the second world war did see the league postponed <ok>

What's the point in asking this? You know the ways of the taigs. Deflect, deny and ignore.

Yes there would be a rivalry created by the media and fans because the same people that supported the old Rangers will also support the new incarnation and will undoubtedly demonstrate the same level of hatred towards the traditional Scottish/Irish heritage that helps define us - henceforth I will think of the newco as Rangers Lite <ok>
