Who have we had that's better, other than Bodde? come on Dai spit it out, this I got to hear! and Casual what midfielder had Joe in his pocket last season, answers on a postage stamp please. I remember when Britton went to Sheff, Dai was going on about better players out there, then when he was on his way back, it was 'we don't need him we have moved on' and the same ignorance is being displayed again by Casual and Dai, Do you guys really understand our midfield game? because if you do, then you'd understand the negative effect it would have on our game to lose any one of these two players, silly season it is......................
The fact is that every time one of our managers or good players leave, this forum is awash with doom and gloom about how we'll get relegated and soon be back in League Two. But we move one. Yes, Allen is important to the team, but are you saying that we can't progress without him. 10 teams finished above us last season, so they must have had better teams. So we can improve. Plenty of great players abroad that would love to play for us in the Premier League.
I got slagged off for saying that Rodgers might leave and that's when I was first called a Cardiff fan by the likes of Dilli and his numpty mates. But now everyone on here seems deliriously happy. In fact, most fans have gone from thinking Rodgers is a messiah to thinking he is a failure and will be sacked by Xmas. That's the problems with many fans - they just don't have the ability to think things through. Instead they just react like a bunch of over-emotional schoolgirls.
And when Doris left there was the same **** on this forum about how he was pivotal to our team, how we'd get relegated without him, how we'd never find a good replacement. Now everyone is glad he's got. It is completely negative thinking to think players can't be replaced. ALL players can be replaced. Barcelona constantly replace players, even some of the best players in the world, but the still find replacements and they still do ok.
If Allen goes to Liverpool I guarantee that within a few weeks most on here will be saying he'll be a failure and they're glad he's gone. Many fans have no idea. They love whoever's here and that is the only way they are able to think.
We have a whole team of players. If one or two are replaced we will still move forward. Man U have lost some great players, but they're still doing ok.
Have some faith in our team for ****'s sake.
Good post casual....Little joe is a good player who has reached as far as he is concerned as far as he can go with us in terms of wages and progress, If he feels that his chance of moving to a bigger club and getting better recognition then thats what he must do......We are the minnows of the premiership and will never get a big team status and players know this and even though they may not want to leave they realize that they have to just to move up the ladder....we cant stop a player who has the ability to better himself and has the confidence that he has reached the limit he can with swansea, He may have a chance to move to a bigger club and i can understand that he may want to take the opportunity if it arises....

It's not a case of lack of faith in our team, far from it, that's why replacing Allen would be so difficult (though not impossible) but you failed to answer my question, which I expected from both of you, all to easy to spout that he's easily replaced, and by so doing you show your lack of understanding of how the dynamics of our midfield really work. But I'll leave the value of my point to the test of time, you'll soon see my point if bids do come in for Joe, as the club will NOT take your view, and will fight tooth and nail to keep him, that I have no doubt!
With regard to your pigeon hole view of fans, regarding players and Managers that have left, disloyalty has always been a bitter pill for fans to swallow, and how the fans react is up to them, personally it goes on an individual basis, I'm pretty sure that most on here wished Trundle, Scotland, Ricketts, etc all the best when they left, but why would we as fans want to give the same blessing to want away mercenaries like Robinson, Dorus, and Pratley etc, who made fools of themselves with their pastures green view, as regards Rodgers, who the hell cares if he's a success or not, my view is he is likely to fail, and if he does, serve him right, we picked him up from the gutter and gave him a career brake, and all the thanks we got was up yours! so too right I'll laugh my socks of if it all goes pair shaped at Liverpool..............
Its not about better than Allen dragon even though there will be better out there, Its about what Allen feels and if he feels he has reached the top with swansea then he may feel he needs to go to a bigger club and everything that goes with it to progress......I can totally understand that with any player and manager......they have to try or they may never know how far they can go and if they fail then they fail but if they do well then its a massive life changing achievement...A footballer and manager dont care two hoots when they start out who they play for or manage as the main thing is to get their foot on the ladder and then its up to them how they progress in their chosen career.....Brendan loved it at swansea the same as joe does but if an opportunity arises through their hard work and a big club comes in for them then 99% of players and managers would have to try and test their ability at a higher level.....

The word on the street is that Arsenal are interested in putting in a bid for him. Which is where the rumoured £10 million amount sprung up from.
Personally, if he has his heart set on going somewhere else, then let him go. As a rider, I would say that £10 million should be the starting price, as Liverpool cannot instigate it, if no one else is in for him, he stays here.

If joe is adamant that he wants to go to Liverpool and brendan wants him then joe will put in a transfer request and we wont stand in his way. gentleman's agreement or no gentleman's agreement. we cant stop him from going to a bigger club if they want him, Rodgers only has to mention that he wants him and sit back and let joe and his players union sort it out. he has to be adamant though and im sure he is .....

To answer your question, I have no idea who could place Allen. That is ML's job not mine. That's why he's the manager and not me. I'm looking at the bigger picture of moving on and getting better, nit trying to find individual players who could replace one. There might be loads in Spain, Italy, etc that I've never heard of. That doesn't mean they don't exist. I have in the board and management to sort things out. Also i know they will only leave Joe go if the price is good enough and they think they can get a great replacement. So it's not a worry. They will do what's best for the club. If they only get a low offer, then they won't sell.
Allen to follow Rodgers to Liverpool? I don't know after reading Siggy's comments this morning. He reckons that he signed for Spurs because he thought they were a better team than Liverpool and the future was brighter with them. Bit of a kick in the teeth for Rodgers even though higher wages also must have influenced him.
Joe will know what Siggy feels and might want to hang fire to see if one of the current big hitters come in for him somewhere down the line.

not at all Rodgers or any other manager can show an interest in any player like we do and every other club does. It dont mean that rodgers has approached the club in any way, he can if he wants to and nothing can stop him but he is a man of his word and will wait until someone bids for him or joe puts in a transfer request.....

What some need to realise, and Dai was guilty of this some time back when Britton left, is that our passing game is built around the dynamics of a very cabable and strong midfield, so strong in fact, that we gave some of the best teams in the land a lesson in football, and that will only get better for us, as our players now go into their second season with absalutely no fear, so we can expect an even better performance from the Swans this season under Laudrup, but make no mistake, Britton and Allen, are not now regarded as amongst the highest and most accurate passers of the ball for nothing in the UK, it's down to the shift they put in, and their well above average technical ability, that has been developed over some years might I add at Swansea City.
So to lose any one of these two players will be a difficult, but not impossible job for Laudrup, and in case you've forgoten Britton and Allens passing stats are some of the best in Europe, which includes Spain, so to conclude Casual, I don't take your view, though I would on other positions in the team, such as LB, RW, LW, Striker etc! So in a nutshell Casual the difference between us is this, I view those two players, Britton and Allen as unique, and almost irreplaceable to our game and style. I'd also like to remind you of the fact that Allen admitted in the press that he had learnt a lot playing alongside Bodde, and watching him from the bench, and training with him, that's why he did so well, when stepping up to the plate, when Bodde got injured at that Birmingham game. So let's see what happens, but I'll put money on him staying ...........
Britton did not go to a higher club though and thats totally different all together......you can request to go to a bigger club if you are still under contract but you cant go to a lesser or on par with your club.......Nobody should block a player if he gets the chance to better himself at a bigger club. If they fail then thats his problem as we will have been compensated and wont effect us......Rodgers to his credit agreed to not come in for our players and he hasn't but its no secret that he would if he never agreed to the gentlemen's agreement, so all he can do is wait and see what happens and the minute someone makes a bid for joe he will then show his hand on his intentions...
